Scripps Networks Interactive (SNI) is actively seeking a Director of International Communications in New York, NY, to primarily support the international division's corporate and internal communications efforts as well as create bespoke internal and external events. The role will also provide support to the consumer PR and talent management functions on an as-needed basis. The ideal candidate will have the ability to create, manage and support multiple projects simultaneously, under tight deadlines, across multiple time zones, in both domestic and international locations.
This position will report to the Vice President of International Communications and will be part of the Scripps Networks International Content and Brand Strategy department, which provides the company's international HQ and regional offices with Communications, Marketing, Creative Services, and Programming support.
Scripps Networks' international division distributes seven lifestyle entertainment brands including Asian Food Channel, Cooking Channel, DIY Network, Fine Living, Food Network, HGTV and Travel Channel, as well as Poland's leading media company TVN's broad portfolio of networks, reaching 300 million households in more than 175 countries and territories across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean. The division also manages the company's third-party program licensing unit.

Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities
Corporate Communications:
• Maintain all international corporate and internal communications vehicles (monthly/quarterly/as-needed). Draft corporate materials including: key messages, press releases, boilerplates, fast facts, executive bios, etc., that support Scripps Networks International's internal and external positioning.
• Assist in building external profiles of leading executives by creating and maintaining executive visibility functions (media relations, events and conferences/speaking opportunities, awards, etc.); oversee executive media training, message and presentation development
• Build and sustain working international industry trade media list, conferences and events directory, editorial calendar and awards lists and international industry/trade award submissions. Consistently explore editorial opportunities for increased pay-TV trade press coverage.
• Serve as secondary international POC for key corporate functions: Corporate Communications, Investor Relations, Corporate Development, BOD, etc.
• Create and manage corporate collateral for international executives and international sales teams
Internal Communications:
• Manage international InsideSNI distributions in partnership with Corporate Communications and HR; draft copy for international newsletters
• Manage internal communications for Latin American region in partnership with regional HR team
• Manage international messaging for annual Company Meeting presentation and division's annual All-Hands meeting
Events Management:
• Create and manage all logistical aspects of bespoke internal, corporate/client and consumer events including international leadership summits; annual international all-hands; industry conferences and trade shows (MIPs); Food Network food festivals (NYCWFF/SOBE), talent junkets, and more.
Program Publicity:
• Support crisis management and international viewer relations program
International Talent Management:
• Support International Talent Management/Relations function
• Plan and execute international press/promotional talent junkets as needed
Administrative:
• Manage department budget
• Perform administrative functions as requested
Skills/Qualifications
• Ability to generate creative concepts
• Recommends best practices that may require significant innovation for improving products, processes or services by applying advanced understanding of complex functional/technical and business issues and challenges
• Integrates internal and external views to create a business-relevant perspective
• Anticipates resources requirements and modifies plans as needed
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of internet publishing tools, photo editing and multimedia
• Proficient in relevant software packages and applications
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills
• Capacity to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to work collaboratively with team members
• Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional groups
Education and Experience
• BS/BA in related discipline and at least 8-10 years of experience in related field - OR -
• MS/MA/MBA or other graduate degree and at least 5-7 year of experience in related field
