Scripps Networks Interactive, the leader in lifestyle media with top brands such as HGTV, Food Network, and Travel Channel, is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer/Architect to join us in our Knoxville office.
The Cyber Security Engineer/Architect will bring together aspects of systems engineering, operational security, software engineering, and acquisition to aid in developing secure systems. The engineer will also assist as Security Architect that will provide leadership on definition of security architecture, including the development and implementation of effective security administration processes for all platforms. In addition, this role will leverage existing security tools to ensure the proper protection of sensitive data and compliance to internal and external regulations and requirements. The Senior Information Security Specialist will also support the facilitation of information risk assessments and the adoption of the information risk framework.
Job Description:
The Job
• Develop and recommend security designs and frameworks for technology systems by defining process and architecture for creating secure networks, systems, and applications. Is experienced using common architectural reference models and tools such as TOGAF and SABSA.
• Serve as an internal Information Security consultant to the organization.
• Correlate security controls to security architecture and blend cyber kill chain threat model to ensure appropriate controls coverage to various pertinent threat scenarios for the purpose of data protection.
• Guide enterprise-wide definition, establishment, and maintenance of data, security-related infrastructure, applications, and processes.
• Provide technical support to clients, management, security administrators, and network operations.
• Participate on projects and recommend secure solutions based on policies, standards and best practices.
• Reviews, develops, tests, and implements security plans, products, and control techniques.
• Reviews circumstances surrounding data security vulnerabilities and designs corrective actions. Manage and track OS, application, network, and system vulnerabilities. Support border partners in identifying, validating, reporting and remediating vulnerabilities.
• Provides implementation support for risk assessment and data security procedures and products.
• Provides subject matter expertise for customer initiated audits of business security practices. Participates in Information Security review and consultation for third party risk management and contract security reviews.
• Evaluates new and proposed security systems and technologies.
• Ability to evaluate, recommend and communicate information security policies and standards and provide guidance and direction to the business and IT organizations.
• design, develop, and deploy security related systems as well a security within SCRIPPS NETWORKS' systems
• responsible for the design, development, implementation, and/or integration of SCRIPPS NETWORKS' architecture, system, or system component for use within the computing environment, network environment, and/or enclave environment
• Knowledge and experience with incident response processes and forensic tools.

• Presentation and communication skills to effectively communicate with management and customers cyber security designs
• Ability to clearly articulate complex concepts both written and verbally
• Ability, understanding, and usage of active listening skills especially with customers
• Understand architecture, administration, and management of operating systems, networking, and virtualization software
• Understanding of how the different type of firewalls and network load balancers work
• Deep understanding of how network routers and switches work
• Evaluate and design systems and network architectures
• General programming/software development concepts and software analytical skills
• Detailed knowledge of three or more of these concepts:

• • holistic view, including threat modeling, specifications, implementation, testing, and vulnerability assessment
• Understand security issues associated with operating systems, networking, and virtualization software
Preferred:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in information security field
• Has organized and coordinated technical Vulnerability Assessments including systems and network vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, web application assessments, social engineering assessments, physical security assessments, wireless security assessments and implementing secure infrastructure solutions
• Has recommended and set the technical direction for managing security incidents
• Experience maintaining the integrity of process and approach, as well as controls, for the whole incident management process including the ability to coordinate and manage major/highly sensitive investigations with potential for business wide impact/reputational damage
