The Architecture and Solutions department is focused on supporting Scripps Networks in the world-wide delivery of leading lifestyle media through innovative, reliable, and efficient technology solutions. In support of this mission, the Solutions Engineering team works collaboratively with internal and external teams and vendors to discover technology gaps and provide solutions that allow quick time to market for Scripp's platform and product delivery groups.

Job Description:
YOUR OPPORTUNITY
• Actively participate in design discussions for services to be delivered to the business.
• Determine and document business requirements, analyze, design, configure complex software and hardware systems, operating systems, and utilities.
• Work with third-party vendors to support systems installed locally or hosted.
• Work directly with teams to document and support infrastructure automation, software delivery, and testing solutions.
• Identify technology gaps and constraints related to software products, applications, and services and provide insight to business and product owners into emerging technology available through SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS offerings.
• Collaboratively work with teams to integrate new designs and technology into existing applications and systems.
• Work with Architects to design, run and present results of POCs to business owners.
• Assist in the design and implementation of security technology solutions for environments hosted in the cloud or on-premise.
YOU
• Minimum of 8 years experience with Linux operating systems and system engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years experience with cloud environments, Amazon Web Services (AWS) preferred, Azure and Google Cloud experience a plus.
• Minimum of 4 years experience with web servers and application servers, Apache, Tomcat and JBoss.
• Minimum of 4 years experience with scripting languages, ie. Bash, Groovy, Python.
• Minimum of 2 years experience DNS administration and Certificate Services.
• Minimum of 2 years CI/CD engineering experience with standard tools such as Jenkins, Chef, Maven, git, etc..
• Extensive experience with AWS services EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and Cloudfront.
• Working knowledge of Cloud Iaas, PaaS, and SaaS products (AWS, Azure, VMWare, Hyper-V etc…).
• Experience designing and building infrastructure and application components of enterprise web content management systems, preferably Adobe CQ
• Experience with or willingness to learn:
• MySQL and Oracle
• Machine Learning
• Video Streaming
• Aspera
• Ability to perform root cause analysis of recurring application performance issues.
• Ability to lead presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work in a dynamic and collaborative cross-functional team environment.
• Ability to train less experienced personnel on basic infrastructure build capabilities.
• Ability to take lead role in projects.
• Excellent communication and relationship skills are a must.
Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Certification
• AWS Associate certifications preferred; Architect, Developer, Sysops
• AWS Professional certifications a plus
• MCSD: Azure Solutions Architect a plus
• RHCE a plus
• ITIL v3 a plus
Additional desirable skills and abilities
• Experience with Citrix, Microsoft Sharepoint, and Skype for Business
• Familiarity with Solar Winds, Sumologic, New Relic, Pingdom, CloudAware
