Full Time Job
Scripps Networks Interactive is currently seeking a Broadcast Operations Specialist, Latin America to be based in Knoxville, TN. The Broadcast Operations Specialist will report to the Manager of Broadcast Operations, Latin America and will be responsible for handling Linear and non-Linear content delivery for multiple clients in the Latin American market and supporting all other Latin American Broadcast Operations functions. This role requires multi-tasking, intuition and creative thinking to solutions.
Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities
VOD:
• Interface internally with other departments and externally with suppliers and clients, representing the needs of Linear and Non-Linear Content Distribution (pre-dominantly VOD) and as aligned with Scripps' stated strategy
• Handle content deliverables of VOD and Non-linear systems. Ancillary support for Linear Channels. Maintain Monthly status grids for Latin America and Brazil
• Audit delivered metadata for any errors/issues
• Send artwork to internal Creative team for ingestion
• Confirm video asset delivery and route for encoding/QC
• Track episode completion for each day/week utilizing internal reporting tools
• Follow up on missing assets with each content partner
• Confirm status of completion for received assets
• Communicate any delays to all appropriate parties
ANCILLARY SUPPORT:
• Manage day-to-day relationships with external partners, vendors and internal work groups to ensure that all stakeholders are aligned and informed
• Monitor and track regular content delivery (video and audio files, scripts, etc.) across multiple digital platforms
• Assist Manager in project plans and status reports that can be shared with management
• Review rejected or questionable material and resolve issues in a timely matter
• Support Creative Services / Marketing Department with media requests and projects
• Support Ad Sales team by coordinating and tracking delivery of commercials
• Support Satellite Authorization process
• Perform other duties as needed and assigned by manager
Skills
/Qualifications
• Must be fluent (written and oral) in Portuguese and English; Spanish fluency a plus
• Must possess strong Microsoft Office skills, with an emphasis in Excel. Mac experience a plus.
• Must be able to interact with international customers and providers, which may be located worldwide (Empathetic approach to multi-cultural, languages and comprehension issues)
• Must be able to take steps to gain new perspectives from external sources
• Must be able to balance competing priorities based on understanding of team/business needs
• Candidate must be analytical and strategic in their approach to problem solving
• Candidate should have a familiarity with video and media file formats
• Must understand Video and Audio technologies, both analog and digital domains
• Must be able to communicate complex concepts in a succinct manner
• Knowledge of media software a plus - Avid, Apple Final Cut and Compressor, Adobe Creative Suite
• Ability to work with public and office personnel in a friendly, professional manner, while handling an extensive workload in a sometimes stressful environment
• Extremely organized and multi-task oriented
• Ability to handle extensive data entry
Education
and Experience
• BS/BA in related discipline or MS/MA/MBA
• 2-5 years of operations experience (content processing and distribution) required or similar experience
• Background in VOD and Non-Linear workflows
