Job Description:
Scripps Networks Interactive, the leader in lifestyle media with top brands such as HGTV, Food Network, and Travel Channel, is seeking a dynamic Associate Producer/Editor to help us out at headquarters in Knoxville, Tennessee on exciting content development and production for our social media platforms. This successful superstar will help pitch, develop, and execute on an amazing programming slate for upcoming digital video initiatives, including a mix of original and re-purposed library content from HGTV, Travel Channel and DIY Network.
As with many of our digital roles, each day is a different adventure but may include: content development, editing and production, managing projects from pre-production through final delivery, ensuring that projects remain on schedule throughout the process, tracking success of shows after they are released and more!
THE OPPORTUNITY
• Edit and produce original and re-purposed library content for social feeds of the top lifestyle brands HGTV, Travel Channel and DIY Network.
• Take part in the development, creation and management of video content for a variety of digital and social platforms.
• Pitch on-trend, on-brand and envelope-pushing video ideas across lifestyle topics: travel, home makeovers and repairs, entertaining, decorating and design, gardening and home keeping and crafting and DIY projects.
• Work with video, editorial, social, marketing and research teams to drive increased views and shareability across platforms.
• Assist with product integration opportunities and ideas.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
• A creative storyteller with a critical eye who possesses strong communication skills: in-person, written and digitally
• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred as well as 2 years of experience creating/editing video content for digital/social platforms
• Experience editing with Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere.
• Ability to shoot and edit videos unsupervised and deliver against deadlines and high-quality expectations.
• Familiarity with creating content for lifestyle brands.
• Understands millennial-mindset viewing habits across all platforms and can contribute to strategies to reach this group.
• Collaborative and has a high degree of adaptability and flexibility.
