Details: Scholastic, the world’s largest publisher and distributor of children’s books, education and media company, is looking for spring interns to work in our Corporate Communications department. The interns will work on a variety of public relations and internal communications activities, as well as special events for external and internal audiences.

Responsibilities Include:
•Work alongside department executives and provide support on all day-to-day public relations activities
•Write articles for the internal Web site
•Research press opportunities and compile press lists
•Assist with special events
•Prepare daily clip reports for distribution
•Draft press materials and conduct media follow-up calls
•Provide support to department executives and publicists, including filing, photocopying, and delivering materials

Qualifications:
•Eligible to receive credit for the internship
•Available to work a maximum of 16 hours per week
•Full-time student in good academic standing
•Prior internship experience preferred
•Professional appearance and personable demeanor
•Ability to multitask, work within deadlines, and take initiatives
•Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
•Experience using Social Media agents – Facebook, Twitter, Ning, Blogging etc. a PLUS

This is a great opportunity to gain hand-on communications experience in a dynamic and creative environment. Please note this internship is unpaid and you must be able to receive credit.
