Trade Show, Exhibit, Scenic Shop Fabricator/Cabinet Maker
Chicago Scenic Shop (non-union) is looking for mill-worker/cabinet maker/ exhibit fabricator to manufacture trade show booths, museum exhibits, sets, scenery, corporate shows and props.
Must have experience in scenic, trade show or related creative industry and be proficient in exhibit and/or scenic carpentry, casework, millwork and cabinet making.
. Qualifications Needed:
• Experience working in custom production carpenter shop
• Able to read blue prints
• Cuts, assemble, and fasten parts to construct framework, cabinets, panels, shelves, and other exhibit components of specified materials, using hand tools and power tools.
• Knowledgeable and proficient in all carpenter shop equipment including table saws, routers, sanding machines, planers, chop and panel saws, etc.
• Experience working in a wide range of materials including plywood, MDF, laminate, plexi, metals
• Must be able to work at a reasonably fast pace and operate with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
• Able to perform manual labor such as bending, and lifting boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Must have personal basic hand tools (hammer, tape measure, level, square, etc.
• Reliable transportation
Salary depends on experience
Job Type: Full Time, possible OT
