SDI Media is currently seeking a Theatrical Editor with experience working in a fast-paced environment. This individual will report to the Theatrical Director and create scripts from US feature films in various stages of completion for use in dubbed or subtitled foreign release.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Accurately transcribe dialogue and identify speakers
• Spot (time) subtitles from dialogue
• Proof dialogue (dubbing) lists and subtitle lists for accuracy
• Create shot by shot scene descriptions of final feature films
• Annotate colloquialisms, slang, historical, entertainment or professional references in a succinct manner
• Perform other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Film, History, or related professional experience
• Excellent command of the English language
• Able to effectively communicate internally and externally both written and verbal
• Read and decipher materials and documents with the ability to recognize and extract critical data and information
• Excellent knowledge of American culture and history
• Possess general computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision
• Ability to work in fast paced environment and remain calm under pressure; adhere to deadlines, execute on tasks and handle multiple projects
• Overtime and weekend hours required; when needed
