Full Time Job
The GMS Work Materials Operator is responsible for creating reference materials to be used in the production and timing of audio, subtitle and caption file creation.
Duties
- Encode audio/video assets from any available source asset using the company prescribed workflows and equipment
- Transcode client media deliverables to specifications using the company prescribed workflows and equipment
- Calibrate media in proprietary subtitling application ''GTS'' for distribution to SDI translators
- Create audio dubbing projects in Protools for distribution to dubbing facilities
- Identify and address discrepancies in media files that may arise during the creation and calibration of production reference files and related projects
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
- Troubleshoot and correct reported issues with assets and Work materials workflows. Escalate to production managers and engineering as necessary
- Stay current with company workflows and workflow change management updates and tutorials
Qualifications
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
- In depth knowledge of audio/video hardware, software and formats
- In depth knowledge of ''frame rates'' and their function
- In depth knowledge of ''Aspect ratio's'' and their function
- In depth knowledge of SMPTE time-code and its function
- In depth knowledge of workflows relevant to the office
- Have an aptitude for analytic problem solving
- Demonstrate the ability to focus on details ensuring an error free deliverable
- Must be able to communicate effectively
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Must be a team player as well as possess the ability to work independently
- Must be able to work flexible hours if and when necessary
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of related technical experience
- Subject to proficiency test related to digital media?
