SDI Media is seeking an Accounting Manager for the Culver City office location.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Be responsible for accurate accounting and reporting for multiple entities (US , Canada, and Mexico) under US GAAP
•Review monthly reconciliations including cash, intercompany, CAPEX, accruals, and other balance sheet accounts
•Review and post journal entries
•Drive month end close activities including preparation of month end close calendar
•Prepare monthly reporting package to submit to Corporate
•Direct supervision of and collaboration with USA and Mexico Senior Accountants (2), USA billing department (5), and USA accounts payable supervisor (1)
•Assist direct reports with time management and the meeting of deadlines
•Review monthly wire batches of contractor payments
•Assist in developing and refining processes and standards including streamlining and improving work papers
•Identify and implement process improvements to decrease overtime worked by staff in general accounting, billing, and accounts payable
•Motivate, mentor and train staff
•Review schedules for year-end audit
•Facilitate audit requests and questions with external auditors
•Other projects as assigned by VP of Finance Americas
JOB REQUIREMENTS
•Bi-lingual fluency in Spanish and English required
•US GAAP knowledge
•Minimum 5-7 years operational and financial accounting and reporting required
•Advanced Excel skills required
•Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills required
•Strong inter-personal skills required
•Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and collaborate with staff at all organizational levels across various business units is required
•Must be a motivated self-starter; able to work independently
•Works well within a team
•Must have the ability to work well under pressure and with changing priorities
•Must be very organized and deadline driven with ability to prioritize
•Must be proactive with strong follow through skills
•Must have discretion with handling confidential or sensitive information
•Must have the ability to multi-task in order to oversee multiple projects at once
•Must be willing to roll up sleeves and dig into the details
•Must work overtime and weekends when needed
•Microsoft Navision experience is a plus
•CPA firm experience with auditing exposure a plus (CPA not required)
