POSITION PURPOSE:
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for recruiting exceptional talent for the Union and will consistently work towards attracting qualified candidates to the organization. Recruit entry-level to management positions. The Specialist will align talent acquisition with employee development, organizational goals and programs. Guide hiring managers and candidates through the selection process by performing full life cycle recruiting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Manage full cycle recruiting process to meet the various staffing goals of the organization.
- Identify and recommend recruitment strategies for all assigned open positions and communicate strategies to hiring managers and HR staff.
- Partner with Managers to forecast and develop plans to staff new and existing positions.
- Develop and update job descriptions as needed.
- Support HR Leaders in employee relations and employee development programs.
- Evolve the talent acquisition process in conjunction with relevant employee programs.
- Coordinate HR special projects as needed.
- Conduct ongoing research to identify job boards, posting sites, educational institutions and other relevant associations to further drive the organization's brand and aid in the identification of top talent.
- Maintain collaborative working relationships with recruitment agencies and representatives.
- Coordinate placement of open positions with recruitment agencies when applicable.
- Manage recruiting and employment processes in on-line Applicant Tracking System to ensure compliance with SAG-AFTRA policies, CA and federal guidelines.
- Serves as a subject matter specialist and develops staffing strategies; develops and builds hiring processes for a variety of levels from temporary staffing to management placement.
- Negotiate offer packages and drafts offer letters for selected candidates.
- Develop, streamline and enhance staffing systems, track reporting and analysis, sourcing and recruiting initiatives and processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
(The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions or this job with or without t reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.)
- Excellent organization skills and ability to function and adapt in a high demand and changing environment
- High level or customer service and relationship management skills
- Strong planning and prioritizing skills with solid follow-up abilities
- Strong knowledge of applicant tracking systems and internet recruitment websites
- Knowledge of employment law, diversity and outreach, AA/EEO principles and their appropriate application in an employment setting
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
- Able to accurately type 35 WPM
- Able to use PC applications
- Superlative interpersonal skills: high degree of patience and tact. Must be able to cultivate respectful, strategic and collaborative relationships with people from diverse backgrounds both internally and externally
- Have an understanding and awareness of worker rights impacting SAG-AFTRA members.
- Hold yourself and others accountable for a high level of performance and integrity.
- High degree of attention to detail.
- Able to organize and coordinate multiple tasks under daily deadlines.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Able to prioritize tasks.
- Capable of taking direction from more than one supervisor.
- Must be able to work in a challenging environment where constructive feedback from others is encouraged.
- Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined at SAGĀ-AFTRA's sole discretion.
- Must be available and willing to work extended hours per day or per week, including weekends and holidays, as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary to meet its business needs.
- Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SAGĀ-AFTRA determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and/or minimum 7 years human resources generalist experience, including 4 years of talent acquisition experience.
- Experience in a union environment preferred.
Certificates, licenses, and/or registrations:
- PHR or SPHR preferred.
