POSITION PURPOSE: The National Director, Analytics & Research is responsible for leading strategic and operational data analysis in support of the core functions of the union. The individual will independently oversee quantitative and qualitative research and analysis of public, licensed, and proprietary SAG-AFTRA data to inform SAG-AFTRA's contract negotiations, contract enforcement, organizing efforts, and strategic decision-making. The individual is responsible for integrating all of this work across the organization and for leading related cross-departmental staff initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead cross-departmental strategic initiatives.
• Serve in a leadership role on staff negotiating teams.
• Integrate data solutions across various union functions and departments.
• Leverage analytics staff to drive organizational change.
• Distill data from SAG-AFTRA databases and generate queries and reports based on an understanding of union efforts, contracts, and strategy.
• In collaboration with others, develop and maintain databases and data systems necessary for strategic projects and department functions.
• Synthesize reports to support the bargaining and enforcement of SAG-AFTRA contracts and organizing efforts.
• Conduct business research of SAG-AFTRA's bargaining partners and organizing targets, including financial statement analysis, research of content deals and licensing agreements, and analysis of corporate structure and processes.
• Perform strategic analysis of industry trends in the media sector.
• Derive strategic business conclusions based on quantitative analysis and critical evaluation of data and substantiate the conclusions orally and in writing.
• Interpret and communicate findings to executive staff, elected leadership and general membership in support of enforcement, negotiation and member education.
• Oversee the Analytics function, and the delivery of data analytics solutions to outside departments.
• Supervise, support, coach, assess, discipline and train all analytics staff.
• Collaborate with other SAG-AFTRA departments on strategic initiatives and projects.
• Communicate diplomatically with outside parties (benefit plan administrators, employers, third-party paymasters, etc.) to ensure a complete understanding of external data and reporting.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Experience in data mining techniques and procedures and knowing when their use is appropriate.
• Ability to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Able to accurately type 35 WPM.
• Detail oriented.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of statistics.
• Hold yourself and others accountable for a high level of performance and integrity.
• Able to organize and coordinate multiple tasks under daily deadlines.
• Able to work under pressure.

• Capable of taking direction from more than one supervisor.

• Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined at SAG-AFTRA's sole discretion.
• Must be available and willing to work extended hours per day or per week, including weekends and holidays, as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary to meet its business needs.
• Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
and/or Experience:
• BA and MBA or comparable degree required.
• Minimum of 5 years' related experience required.
