POSITION GOALS:
The National Controller is responsible for all accounting operations of the organization, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of adequate accounting records and comprehensive sets of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance accuracy of reported financial results and ensure that those results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage Finance and Accounting departments with providing information, primarily financial in nature about all organizational activities that will assist management, board members, and others in making educated economic decisions to guide the organization into the future.
• Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures.
• Manage and forecast organization's cash flow.
• Oversee Accounting and Payroll operations including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving goals and objectives.
• Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audit controls and checks across all departments.
• Issue timely and complete financial statements.
• Develop, calculate and issue financial and operating metrics.
• Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, payroll, fixed assets records, dues collections and general and entity accounting.
• In conjunction with the National Director, Finance and Strategy, develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial reports for the CFO and National Board.
• Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate organizational ventures, special projects, initiatives, programs, capital expenditures, etc. as needed.
• Manage commercial banking relationships.
• Interface with outside audit firms, banks, investments management firms, insurance brokers, etc.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.
• Leverage strengths of current accounting team members, help clarify roles and responsibilities and, in conjunction with Human Resources, develop, implement training programs in order to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals.
• Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment.

• Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined at SAG-AFTRA's sole discretion.
• Must be available and willing to work extended hours per day or per week, including weekends and holidays, as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary to meet its business needs.
• Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience:
• Undergraduate degree required.
• Minimum of 10 years of senior management experience in Accounting/ Finance.
• Public Accounting experience desired.
• Experience in a union environment or member organization a plus.
Certificates, licenses, and/or registrations:
• CPA strongly desired.
