The Manager, Residuals Processing is the day-to-day leader of the Department and is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing all department resources, (manpower, equipment, and processes) ensuring integrity and delivery of optimum service in all matters affecting Member Residuals. Additionally, this role will assist in the overall strategic direction of Department, capitalizing on new processes and technologies wherever possible for the benefit of Members and the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Recommends and implements changes that improve and optimize all processes related to the collection and distribution of residual and may or may not include: processing, mail, trust, estates, and any other function that relates to residual payments and distribution.
- Responsible for managing, training, mentoring, developing, evaluating and assessing direct reports.
- Promoted and ensures a productive and positive work environment.
- Responsible for assisting in resource management scheduling, equipment allocation, etc.
- Makes staffing decisions to meet department goals and needs, which include: hiring full-time and temporary staff.
- Provides recommendations for departmental budgets.
- Analyzes all processes routinely to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and error-free work.
- Recommends and implements improvements.
- Consistently reviews and ensures that department functions and processes are documented, updated, and utilized for the purposes of training, retraining, and improving the process.
- Takes a proactive approach in finding remedies to Member concerns.
- Keeps senior management abreast of department progress, workflow delays and issues, as well as Member questions and any other departmental issues.
- Functions as the primary liaison for studios and payroll houses for operational items.
- Maintains open communication with studios to ensure that necessary data is provided in a timely fashion to meet departmental goals.
- Recommends solutions to improve the flow of information.
- Builds and maintains working relationships within SAG-AFTRA to meet department goals and ensure optimal member service.
- Performs other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
(The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.)
- Previous experience managing processes.
- Must have the ability to quickly understand large scale check processing systems.
- Previous experience managing staff of 20 or more persons.
- Previous experience as a leader of a group or department.
- Previous experience reviewing, managing, and coaching staff. (including hiring, training, providing feedback, coaching, mentoring, and motivating)
- Previous experience in customer service.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in written form with internal and external sources.
- Able to manage and accomplish goals through others.
- Able to gain consensus amongst peers and direct reports.
- Superior ability to manage workflow and processes.
- Previous Residual Processing experience. (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to interact with members/customers with knowledge, tact, and diplomacy.
- Demonstrated ability to implement improvements.
- Must be process-oriented.
- Must be detail oriented, highly organized, and can multi-task.
- Ability to work closely with the IT department for system and process improvements.
- Must currently possess advanced skills in PC applications. (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Superlative interpersonal skills: high degree of patience and tact. Must be able to cultivate respectful, strategic and collaborative relationships with people from diverse backgrounds both internally and externally.
- Have an understanding and awareness of worker rights impacting SAG-AFTRA members.

- Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined at SAG-AFTRA's sole discretion.
- Must be available and willing to work extended hours per day or per week, including weekends and holidays, as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary to meet its business needs.
- Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
Education and/or Experience:
- Undergraduate degree or similar combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in a leadership capacity.
- Minimum of 4years' managing staff.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience managing workflow and/or other processes.
- Minimum of 4years of experience or knowledge in residuals processing (preferred
- Entertainment industry experience in distribution and/or business affairs (preferred)
- Previous work experience in residuals administration (preferred, not required)
- Prior experience in Member service preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of motion picture or television distribution business preferred.
