POSITION PURPOSE: The HR Generalist will report to the Director of Employee Relations and support the employee relations, performance management, and general Human Resources functions. This role will be a trusted partner for internal staff and play a key role in building credible relationships while supporting broader Human Resources initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform professional level human resources work and carry out responsibilities in the areas of employee relations, employee engagement, and performance management for both union and non-union staff.
• Provide counsel to employees on the appropriate interpretation of company policies, processes.
• Ensure consistent application and compliance with all SAG-AFTRA human resources practices and union contracts.
• Provide advice to managers and supervisors regarding employee relations and performance issues.
• Will support the Employee Communications Strategist by distributing and posting organization wide messaging via Intranet and additional channels when required.
• Maintain performance management system including supporting the bi-annual appraisal cycle which includes reviewing appraisals for fairness and consistency, acting as a point of contact for appraisal program questions, running ad hoc reports and data entry.
• Will support a seamless onboarding experience for all new-hires, including post-hire 30 day and 60 day assessments. Act as a back-up for initial onboarding activities.
• Prepare analysis and reports relying on data in ADP & Qlikview.
• Conduct exit interviews and coordinate documentation for staff separations.
• Assist with EEO-1 reporting, documentation preparation, and coordination of meeting logistics.
• Provide back-up coverage and support for the HR team and additional areas as needed
• May conduct research to determine the effectiveness of personnel programs and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of Human Resources best practices and ability to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to Human Resources.
• Superlative interpersonal skills: High degree of patience and tact, and must be able to cultivate respectful, strategic, and collaborative relationships with people from diverse backgrounds; both internally and externally.
• Strong knowledge of HRIS systems.
• Working knowledge of online performance management applications preferred.
• Proficient in PC applications and Internet based systems.
• Exceptional time management, project management, prioritization, and organizational skills required.
• Is self-motivated, energetic and able to partner effectively with staff and leadership to gain their respect and trust.
• Able to use sound judgment, discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• Able to work effectively in a fast paced, multi-faceted environment with rapidly changing demands.
• Strong administrative abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

• Must be available and willing to work extended hours per day or per week, including weekends and holidays, as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary to meet its business needs.
• Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
and/or Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field, and 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, or 8 years of relevant Human Resources experience.
• A minimum of 1 year of employee relations experience required.
• Union experience a plus.
Certificates, licenses, and/or registrations:
• PHR or SHRM certification a plus.
TESTING REQUIREMENTS:
• Microsoft Word and Excel tests (basic, intermediate and advanced) – passing score: 76%
