POSITION PURPOSE: The Coordinator, LA Local will provide administrative and event support for SAG-AFTRA LA Programs such as: MOVE, Next Generation Performers, Membership Orientation, iActor, Film Society, SAG-AFTRA Radio Plays and LA Conservatory. In addition, this position will provide overall administrative support to the Los Angeles Local Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Coordinates and executes event and meeting preparations with/for Film Society, LA Conservatory, member education programs and LA Local outreach by: securing space, arranging refreshments and/or catering, arranging A/V, preparing handouts, and other event-related duties.
-Provides assistance for the iActor Program by filtering calls and recording applications.
-LA Local Liaison to the ''Call to Arts'' program.
-Processes applications and payments for Film Society and LA Conservatory.
-Maintains the LA Local Group Calendar by updating new events and meetings, distributing the weekly schedule to LA Local staff.
-Researches, compiles and analyzes special reports utilizing various databases.
-Assists the Membership department with quarterly courtesy calls to members.
-Supports LA Local operations and other departments as requested.
-Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
(The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.)
-Highly organized and detail oriented.
-Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks with multiple deadlines.
-Consistent professional and articulate telephone manner.
-Superlative interpersonal skills: high degree of patience; able to respond to difficult situations and individuals in a tactful and diplomatic manner; able to cultivate respectful, strategic and collaborative relationships with people from diverse backgrounds, both internally and externally.
-Must be available and willing to work extended hours (and/or overtime for applicable non- exempt positions) per day or per week, including weekends and holidays, as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary to meet its business needs.
-Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
-Demonstrated proficiency in PC software applications.
-Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
-Ability to show discretion with sensitive and confidential matters.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-Must be able to work in a fast paced and challenging environment, where constructive feedback from others is encouraged.
-Must display initiative regarding follow-up procedures on pending matters.
-Ability to retrieve and relate information accurately and promptly.
-Capable of taking direction from more than one supervisor.
-Hold yourself and others accountable for a high level of performance and integrity.
-Have an understanding and awareness of worker rights impacting SAG-AFTRA members.
-Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined at SAG-AFTRA's sole discretion.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience:
-High school degree required
-Some college or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
-Experience using Oracle is a plus
-Previous experience in entertainment industry a plus
Certificates, licenses, and/or registrations:
-N/A
TESTING REQUIREMENTS:
-Basic skills: spelling, math, grammar, and filing - passing score: 76%
-Microsoft Word and Excel tests (basic, intermediate and advanced) - passing score: 76%
-Typing test 35 WPM
-Writing test
