POSITION PURPOSE:
Under the direction of the Sr. Manager of Media & Publicity, Communications & Marketing, the Coordinator will support all programs, initiatives, strategies and production of communications and marketing products and initiatives. The Coordinator will provide editorial, marketing, research and planning assistance to the communications team along with some administrative duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Daily press clip pulls and clip reports (analysis), complete and sent by noon ET.
• Media analysis and regular reporting every Friday by noon ET.
• Support reputation management as directed. This may include, but is not limited to, support of leadership appearances, conferences, festivals and other external events.
• Support media relations outreach efforts as directed. This may include, but is not limited to fielding media inquiries, disseminating P.R, materials and tracking P.R. efforts.
• Responsible for some writing, editing, photographing and producing various content as needed.
• Pitch, organize and advance brand and reputation management opportunities at conferences, festivals, events, and elsewhere. Includes developing leadership briefing materials, advancing attendance, photographing events and working with media
• Format, coordinate approvals and disseminate electronic communications to New York SAG-AFTRA members on a regular basis, and other SAG-AFTRA members as directed
• Post content and updates to website and social media as directed.
• Work with National Director, Communications & Marketing on production of SAG-AFTRA publications
• Assist with managing incoming member email and forward or respond appropriately.
• Coordinate events or meetings as assigned by manager
• Must be able to effectively interface with members and staff on a regular basis.
• Perform Communications & Marketing planning and other duties as assigned.
• Dotted line reporting to the NY Director, Member Outreach to assist with education and outreach activities and other duties as assigned.
• Work with team to insure completion of production activities within the department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Communications & Marketing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Excellent editing ability and working knowledge of AP Style.
• Good working knowledge of public relations standards and practices.
• Knowledge of computers/Internet/social media best practices.
General
• Detailed-oriented, process and deadline driven with the ability to focus and produce results under tight deadlines without constant supervision.
• Able to prioritize tasks.
• Must be self-motivated with the ability to manage projects and time efficiently.

• Must be available and willing to work extended hours per day or per week (and/or overtime for applicable non- exempt positions), including weekends and holidays, as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary to meet its business needs.
• Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as the SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience:
• BA/BS degree in journalism, public relations, communications, marketing or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Public relations experience or a combination of agency and in-house experience; heavy exposure to media relations, media tracking and media management is required.
• At least two years' prior public relations or communications experience required, along with knowledge/interest in the entertainment industry preferred.
• Strong writing skills and proficiency with AP style (must take editorial exam).
• Proficiency with online content management systems, such as Drupal and Sharepoint preferred, along with basic working knowledge of HTML.
• Experience or knowledge of Cision Media Software, Sysomos Analysis and Tracking, and social and traditional media analysis and reporting preferred.
• Experience with Adobe content creation/editing software (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) a plus.
• Prior sales/customer relations experience a plus.
• Experience with basic media relations practices and relevant software a plus.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
