Job Title: Technical Productions Administrator (NY)
Department: IT & Facilities
Reports To: IT & Facilities Director
FLSA Status: Full-time
The New York Technical Productions Administrator (TPA) will be responsible for programming, teaching, scheduling and tracking SAG-AFTRA Foundation Computer Lab classes related to using photo and video editing software, creating/building websites, and using other applications that can help SAG-AFTRA members in their careers. The administrator is also responsible for managing the daily operations of the On-Camera Lab (scheduling camera technicians, assisting actors with technical procedures, software and hardware maintenance and updates) and for maintaining the Lab's master calendar. Other duties may involve logging, archiving, and editing video material from NYC based events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
• Provides a helpful and welcoming lab environment
• Coordinates and conducts classes for union members
• Looks for ways to enhance both the Computer and On-Camera Lab resources or programming to better serve the educational needs of its users, and the needs of the Foundation
• Tracks classes/labs in stats spreadsheet provided by IT & Facilities Director and the Technical Production Manager
• Logs, archives, and edits NYC based SAG-AFTRA Foundation events and internal videos
• Assists National Director of Facilities & IT with administration and supervision of the NY lab staff including: supply and equipment maintenance, storage, and ordering; online calendar monitoring and updating, reception, and staff performance assessment.
• Manages schedules of the On-Camera Lab's technicians.
• Develops pool of back up technicians.
Internal Interactions:
• New York Director, New York Programs Director , National Director of Facilities & IT, Technical Production Manager, Theater Manager
External Interactions:
• Guests/Member users of the Computer and On-Camera Labs
Reports To:
• National IT & Facilities Director
Supervisory Responsibilities: On-Camera Lab technicians
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• High level competence with AV recording equipment and technology
• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop; Apple iMovie, FCPX (editing experience necessary)
• Excellent teaching skills
• Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented
• Able to organize and coordinate multiple tasks under deadline
• Excellent interpersonal skills: high degree of patience and tact
• Ability to organize and expedite heavy workload efficiently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated interpretative and analytic ability
• Able to work independently
• Available and willing to work overtime or extended hours per day/week and sometimes weekends as needed
• Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined at SAG-AFTRA Foundation's sole discretion
