The Relief House Manager will handle front of house operations during the Theater Manager's off hours. This position will coordinate, organize and manage all aspects of the Los Angeles event hosting and facility procedures, to include but not limited to house staffing (technicians and volunteers), supervising event operations, facility security, audio visual technical components and lighting systems, HVAC, and overall theater appearance; help to oversee all facility related requirements to support a smooth and successful event for our Program Directors; also helps train and supervise volunteers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Monitor events and rentals
• Manage event volunteers
• Work with program/ event staff to make sure everything runs smoothly in the facility and troubleshoot any issues that may arise
• Set up green room for events, including providing refreshments for guests
• Coordinates with programming staff and Theater Manager to meet event room and technical requirements, as well as ancillary area needs
• Configure and reset facility specific to each event's seating and technical needs
• Ensures quality and flow of event technical operations, including ensuring AV equipment and lighting is running properly and meets event requirements, content is properly displayed and cued, and all event systems are executed according to the event plan
• Assists in monitoring audience for illicit recording or picture taking at events
• Responds to event attendees with special needs
• Conducts initial equipment troubleshooting and resolution, and reports issues to the Theater Manager
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
• Point person for accommodating individuals with disabilities or special needs.
Qualifications:
• Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, climb ladders, safely lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality of information.
• High level of tact and professionalism in dealing with all types of people.
• Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented.
• Ability to work in a very high paced environment.
• Able to organize and coordinate multiple tasks under deadline.
• Excellent interpersonal skills: high degree of patience and tact.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated interpretative and analytic ability.
• Able to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined at SAG Foundation's sole discretion.
• Must be available and willing to work such overtime or extended hours as SAG Foundation determines is necessary to meet its business needs. Nighttime/weekend availability required.
