LOS ANGELES PROGRAM ASSISTANT
Seeking: A dynamic and creative individual to collaborate in the development and production of Foundation programming and work in a fun environment.
Department: Los Angeles Programming
Reports to: National Director of Actors Programs
FLSA Status: Part Time, Exempt, Hourly
The Los Angeles Program Assistant provides support to Los Angeles program staff on behalf of all programs and events in Los Angeles. The SAG-AFTRA Foundation provides vital assistance and educational programming to the professionals of SAG-AFTRA while serving the public at large through its signature children's literacy programs. This department produces unique, exciting and empowering programming for SAG-AFTRA members. Through these programs, actors dig deeper into the acting process, learn the business, gain inspiration, and preserve the history of the craft.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Provides core support to the programing staff in the administration of their responsibilities.
• Assist with planning, researching and gathering information for potential programming and drafts event descriptions, as needed.
• Provides National Programs support.
• Research potential submissions and assist in processing films for the Los Angeles Short Film Showcase.
• Provides programming and special event back up and outreach, as needed.
• Helps with developing and facilitating small group workshops.
• Organizes and prioritizes dissemination of information to program participants.
• Helps to coordinate arrangements for on and off site meetings, workshops and events.
• Responds to requests for information about all actors' programs.
• Manages Performers Programs hotline and all member inquiries regarding events.
• Tracks the attendance records of members.
• Processes performer eligibility for programs.
• Is responsible for collating attendance and survey data and reporting out quarterly.
• Organizes and replenishes office supplies for the staff.
• Works collaboratively with Director of Communications on social media coverage of Los Angeles programming, as needed.
Requirements: Must be computer literate and know how to use Microsoft Office. Preference to those who have entertainment related experience and have completed entertainment related internships. Attention to detail, resourcefulness, organization, and strong written and verbal communication skills a must! Must be able to handle many tasks at once and prioritize.
• Familiarity with newspapers and entertainment-specific publications and websites a plus.
• Expertise with Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop, MS Office, Internet and Windows software.
• Detail oriented and highly organized.
• Must be a team player, collaborative and creative.
• Works well in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
• Ability to prioritize assignments and multi-task effectively.
• Superior writing and grammar skills.
• Exercise good judgment, resourcefulness and strong organizational/time management skills.
• Ability to be adaptable and flexible.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and remain calm under pressure.
• Experience in social media a plus.
• Strong knowledge base of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, Snapchat, Instagram and online outreach)
