RWS and Associates (Ryan Stana, Exec. Prod.), is an EMMY® Award Winning full service entertainment production company located in the heart of NYC's Times Square. RWS and Associates provides custom entertainment programming for clients including Holland America Line, Hard Rock Resorts, Hersheypark, Cedar Point, Macy's, Kohl's, and Westfield Properties. RWS and Associates is North America's largest provider of branded stage shows and experiences including CBS Television's Survivor and The Amazing Race. We are currently seeking a talented Wardrobe Manager to join our team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serve as an in-house costume designer for client accounts spanning corporate events, theme parks, cruise ships and other projects as assigned.
• Create sketched designs and mood board proposals for client submissions as needed.
• Oversee sourcing, shopping, build and construction of all costume items required for assigned accounts.
• Liaise and negotiate with current and potential vendors to ensure items sourced are most cost effective and durable.
• Coordinate all wardrobe needs between outsourced designers, build shops, vendors and talent.
• Manage Wardrobe expenses and expense reports, ensuring deliverables remain within budgetary guidelines.
• Inventory and manage an expansive stock of costumes, shoes, wigs, jewelry and accessories.
• Coordinate all account costume shipments, overseeing manifests.
• Record and document (electronic and hard copies) all information relating to account wardrobe data as reference for future recreations and documentation purposes.
• Provide leadership and training to department interns.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum three (3) years working as a designer and builder in a wardrobe or costume department.
• Bachelors degree in Theatre/Costuming or Fashion, or comparable work experience working in a theatre or entertainment production company wardrobe or costume department.
• Proficient in MS Office applications: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to meet deadlines, sometimes with narrow time and budget constraints.
• Skilled in strong construction techniques such as: pattern making, fitting, measuring, draping, cutting, stitching, quick turnaround alterations, wig and research skills.
• Adept in hand and machine sewing and finishing with an understanding of theatrical costume and construction techniques and terms.
• Ability to embellish shopped garments or stock costumes.
PREFERRED:
• Experience designing and/or building for theme park and cruise ship genres.
• Possess an exceptional eye for design and style. Craft skills, mask making, dyeing, paint, millinery and shoe maintenance skills.
The successful candidate will be well organized, experienced in working in an office environment and structure, with an unfailing eye for detail oriented work and ability to remain composed in high stress situations.
