Vice President - Corporate Entertainment & Faith and Family Publicity (Los Angeles, CA)
We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly motivated senior level Vice President for our Los Angeles office. Ideal candidates will have 8+ years of public relations experience working in Film, Television and Corporate Entertainment. We're seeking a self-starter with strong media contacts across broadcast, print, radio and online, with exceptional writing skills, and expert at project management. S/he must have demonstrated success in managing staff and developing and executing successful public relation strategies and programs. Primary responsibilities include team management, fostering positive client relationships, providing strategic and creative counsel on PR campaign ideas in order to achieve business goals as well as supporting new business goals.
Responsibilities:
Team Management
• Provide leadership, direction and guidance to staff
• Develop and coach staff for peak performance
• Mentor staff so that they are able to achieve their professional goals
• Ensure quality work from teams in order to meet/exceed client expectations (Corporate Entertainment & Faith/Family)
• Provide direction and coordination in the design and execution of press initiatives
• Evaluate/counsel team member's pitching skills
• Key contact for internal staff to address issues
Media & Writing
• Develop and implement strategic PR campaigns and compelling story angles to enhance and increase client visibility
• Supervise all writing and editing
• Edit work and provide direction to ensure quality control
• Manage the execution of existing and future public relations strategies
• External and internal research to create press opportunities for clients &
• Pitch recommendations
• Drafting press materials, pitch angles, talking points, fact sheets, pitch letters, media alerts and press releases
• Persuasively pitch to both national and local media in order to achieve highest visibility for print, broadcast, TV and online media outlets
• Identify media trends, news cycles and spin opportunities
• Identify key media outlets and maintain media relations including outreach to further develop and strengthen relationships with consumer print and broadcast media and trade contacts
• Organize press events and manage talent and press tours
• Generate editorial opportunities for clients with both traditional and new media
Additional & Administrative
• Maintain company press contacts and all directories
• Proactively manage editorial calendars
• Analyze and measure results of PR programs
• Manage budgets and campaign ROI
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in public relations and communications or related field
• 8+ years PR experience in Film, TV and Corporate Entertainment
• Ability to work well in a team environment and provide leadership to both manage and execute programs
• Skill in mobilizing and motivating teams
• Expertise in working independently
• Superior time management and organization skills; capable of juggling multiple projects
• Attention to detail and quality control of ideas, client correspondence, plans and press materials
• Understands all aspects of account management
• Established relationships with general business, consumer and entertainment trade press/analyst/blogger communities
• Strong relationships with key media contacts across all mediums (Print, Radio, TV, and Online)
• Proven successes in both traditional and digital PR channels
• Excellent communication & presentation skills
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Experience in marketing and special events
• Adeptness in conveying ownership of assigned projects to junior team members
• Knowledge of international publications and opportunities is a plus
