This division represents leading film and TV production companies, animation studios, global financiers, events, studios and sales companies; works with major international film festivals around the globe; and oversees publicity release campaigns for films, television series and digital content releases.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Account Executive will be in daily contact with the media (strategizing, pitching, PR reports, organizing interview schedules, etc.) and our clients in the film, TV and digital space, to ensure that their goals are met in securing and identifying publicity opportunities. They will be responsible for producing high-quality work and achieving excellent results.
The candidate will work collaboratively with a senior team. The department is a high energy, results-driven group. We're looking for someone who is proactive, professional and creative. Ideal candidates will be self-directed, able to work in a non-linear fashion and confident in dealing with clients, serving as day-to-day account contact and pitching trade, business and consumer media outlets.
Client
• Work with client on tactical issues
• Participate in client meetings and presentations
• Provide basic client counsel
Media
• Interaction with entertainment media, and journalists and editors that oversee coverage
• Pitch clients to top-tier and other media
• Draft media relations materials
• Generate story ideas and topic angles
• Understand industry issues that directly and indirectly affect the client
• Counsel clients and provide feedback
• Demonstrate knowledge of media pitching and tour scheduling
• Participate in and provide support for on-site trade shows
• Monitor media outlets for coverage of client news and competitor developments
Writing
• Develop and write press releases and other press materials
• Proof and edit client related documents as needed
• Compose basic media plans and contribute to plan development processes
Team Participation
• Balance workload between accounts and account staff to ensure that all work is accurate and completed within established deadlines
• Continually communicate with manager
• Informally adds feedback to performance review of colleagues as needed
• Talk intelligently about agency at internal and external meeting and industry functions
• Attend agency staff meetings and group meetings
Administrative Support
• Supervise reports on monthly client billing process
• Perform other administrative tasks as assigned
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in public relations and communications or related field
• 0-4+ years PR experience in Film & TV
• Ability to work well in a team environment and execute programs
• Superior time management and organization skills
• Capable of juggling multiple projects
• Attention to detail and quality control of ideas, client correspondence, plans, and press materials
• Understands all aspects of account management
• Established relationships with general business, consumer, and entertainment trade press/analyst/blogger communities
• Strong relationships with key media contacts across all mediums (Print, Radio, TV, and Online)
• Proven successes in both traditional and digital PR channels
• Excellent communication & presentation skills
• Ability to meet deadlines
