Job Description: We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Account Executive for our Los Angeles office. Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of public relations experience working in Film and Television. We're seeking a self-starter with strong media contacts across broadcast, print, radio and online, with exceptional writing skills. The candidate will serve as a primary day-to-day client contact and provide support to multiple account teams through efficient service each of these accounts simultaneously. S/he must also have strong research, writing and editing skills.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Client
• Work with client on tactical issues
• Participate in client meetings and presentations
• Provide basic client counsel
• Conduct and manage the flow of research necessary to analyze client issues
Media
• Monitor media outlets for coverage of client news and competitor developments
• Help to track and maintain media placements
• Draft media relations materials
• Generate story ideas and topic angles
• Understand industry issues that directly and indirectly affect the client
• Pitch to clients' top-tier and other media
• Counsel clients and provide feedback
• Demonstrate knowledge of media pitching and tour scheduling
• Participate in and provide support for on-site trade shows
• Manage speakers bureau activities
• Manage external vendors
Writing
• Develop proposals, releases, customer profiles, bylined articles and other press materials
• Proof and edit client related documents as needed
• Compose basic media plans and contribute to plan development processes
Team Participation
• Serve as a role model to team members
• Actively participate in agency development and assist with new business
• Balance workload between accounts and account staff to ensure that all work is accurate and completed within established deadlines
• Continually communicate with manager
• Delegate work to interns, Account Coordinators and Assistant Account Executives (as needed)
• Informally adds feedback to performance review of colleagues as needed
• Talk intelligently about agency at internal and external meeting and industry functions
• Attend agency staff meetings and group meetings
Administrative Support
• Supervise reports on monthly client billing process
• Track/enter time with precision and on a day-to-day basis
• Cross-reference, approve, and forward invoices to the Accounting Department
• Assist in account budgeting recommendations
• Perform other administrative tasks as assigned
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in public relations and communications or related field
• 2+ years PR experience in Film & TV
• Ability to work well in a team environment and execute programs
• Superior time management and organization skills; capable of juggling multiple projects
• Attention to detail and quality control of ideas, client correspondence, plans and press materials
• Understands all aspects of account management
• Established relationships with general business, consumer and entertainment trade press/analyst/blogger communities
• Strong relationships with key media contacts across all mediums (Print, Radio, TV, and Online)
• Proven successes in both traditional and digital PR channels
• Excellent communication & presentation skills
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Experience in marketing and special events
• PR experience in Corporate Entertainment or Faith/Family a plus
