Roadtrip Nation seeks a Senior Production Editor (level 1) to join a cross-disciplinary team that thrives on impact, collaboration, and drinking ridiculous amounts of fancy coffee.
The Senior Editor I is responsible for editing short and long form documentary video content. This role works with the Directors, Producers, and other video production staff to deliver videos to Roadtrip Nation's standards of storytelling and quality.
Responsibilities

- Collaborate with Director to concept elements of video project including timelines, storyboard, and themes.
- Edit episodic documentary content from assembly to final cut.
- Edit online video, promos, curriculum videos, training videos and other content for RTN and partners.
- Edit documentary interviews for Roadtrip Nation's Interview Archive including additional online content.
- Responsible for addressing directors notes and preparing all projects for final delivery including music placement, adjusting audio and color as needed, packaging and exporting to required specifications.
- Organize media, video projects, and deliverables in accordance with department standard operating procedures.
- Team with internal and external personnel to collaborate on final production products.
- Support projects with basic video production tasks including but not limited to camera operation, audio recording, and lighting.
- Review all work with Director, Creative Director of Video and/or other stakeholders.
- May design, animate and edit motion graphics as needed.
- May work with assistant editors and interns and assign tasks to assist with video projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Video production with emphasis on editing, a degree from a film academy, related area of study or similar work experience
- 3-6+ years of experience with documentary, reality, or feature film editing
- Expert knowledge of video editing platforms such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut or AVID.
Preferred Education/Experience
- Experience with basic production skills including pre-production planning, camera operation, lighting, and audio

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Lifting: up to 20 lbs camera gear bags
Holding/lifting: 10lbs camera/audio gear for extended periods
Travel
Up to 30% of the time with varying lengths of time, up to 6 weeks
