Description
This position is divided into seven show-night positions and a small amount of hours during a normal business day (minimum two days/week). Through a scheduled rotation of all seven different positions, the intern will gain an in depth understanding of all aspects of venue operations, management and marketing. This experience will enable them to explore the different fields of the concert and promotion industry.
On show night, interns will shadow and serve as an assistant in the following areas:
1 - Box Office - ticket sales, event logistics, will call, guest lists, media lists, general box office errand running, end of night reports.
2 - Event Management - shadowing/assisting those in charge of the event in whatever capacity needed, including processing/manifesting logistical requests from artists, serving patron needs and running other necessary errands.
3 - Scanner - scanning tickets at door of Center Stage.
4 - Street Team - all interns assigned to a show night will work with the end of show Street Team, handing out promo materials and encouraging people to sign mailing lists, etc. This will begin the night as one specific person, likely stationed in Box Office Lobby or by CS door. This position will also include work outside of show nights with advance promotions, flyers, etc.
5 - The Loft - shadowing the door attendant at The Loft, selling tickets and managing will call and guest/media lists.
6 - Production - this position will largely shadow Kent and may involve some morning hours during an event's load in. The intern will assist with: load-in, running for artist/production crew, assisting with any logistics at FOH during a show and helping with a band's load out.
7- Merchandise - pretty self explanatory….running (or assisting the running of) a merchandise table for the artist in CS lobby or Loft.
Additional hours will be added during normal business days when the venue does not have shows, dependent on intern schedule. Duties for those hours may include assisting in social media and marketing, box office sales, and in-depth understanding of ticketing reports.
Responsibilities
