The Senior Human Resources Manager is a human resources generalist responsible for executing best practices in the areas of employee relations, compensation and benefits, talent and performance assessment, recruiting & onboarding, diversity & inclusion, training & development, HRIS and employment law & regulatory compliance The person will work closely with the parent company Human Resources Department to execute systems, policies and practices that enhance the performance of the company and its employees, and mitigate the risk to the company arising from employment matters. This is an extremely “hands on” role and requires an energetic candidate with “thick skin” and a great deal of energy.

Executive Report:
• Finance
• Heads of company departments and business units
What you’ll do:
• Manage the day to day administrative activities involved with staffing, onboarding, employee relations and terminations for full time and contract employees;
• Work closely with senior management to determine staffing needs;
• Manage the recruiting process to fill open positions
• Ensure new hire request process is following ensuring all positons are approved within budget;
• Collaborate with the Recruiting Manager to ensure that all necessary information is provided, i.e. job description, salary budget, hiring manager approval, etc.
• Coordinate interview schedules with the Recruiting Manager
• Coordinate onboarding with HR Dept (offer letter, background check, benefit enrollment, required documents on file)
• Partner with senior management and department/business unit management on successfully executing annual processes, including the following:
• Goal setting
• Annual reviews – merit salary increase and short-term incentive compensation planning
• Organization/succession planning and team development
• Partner – ranging from consultation to hands-on implementation as needed – with senior management and department/business unit management on all employee recruitment and terminations
• Partner with the parent company HR Dept to ensure best in class processes and measurements are executed
Who we’re looking for:
• Successful track record of achieving results through persuasion and collaboration
• Impeccable oral and written communication skills
• Ability to thrive and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong work ethic and “hands-on” mentality
• Keen knowledge of and interest in popular culture; passion for media and consumer brands
• Training in best practices from large, industry-leading blue chip employers coupled with demonstrable success in entrepreneurial environments
• Track record of working in a similar, “hands-on” role at an entertainment and/or media broadcast production company that includes production personnel.
Required experience:
• Completed BS/BA required; professional HR certification preferred; graduate degree a plus
• Extensive knowledge of Federal employment regulations of NY and CA employment law
• ***A track record of 6 years of professional success and progression in the human resources function of highly complex, demanding media or entertainment broadcast production ***
• Ability to travel between NYC and LA frequently (at least 25%)
• Demonstrated ability to deal with employees all levels with a diverse array of backgrounds and professions; ability to inspire trust and confidence
