The Media Operations Team is responsible for managing the lifecycle of media at our network. The scope of the Team’s duties includes ingest, edit prep, editorial operations, library, QC, trafficking, and archive. The department is a service organization at heart and supports fulfilling the goals of Production, News, Acquisition, Ad Sales, Integrated Marketing, etc.
Reporting to the SVP of Technology & Operations, the Director of Media Operations will lead our media operations function and oversee a team of operations professionals. The right candidate will have –
• 5-7 years of experience working in hands-on operations and/or editorial roles that also includes 3 years managing and mentoring other individuals.
• A solid understanding of the tools utilized to deliver at each stage of the media assembly line.
• An appetite to continually improve team workflow and process to ensure we deliver best-in-class media operations.
• A collaborative, “can do” attitude that helps facilitate flawless execution in concert with TechOps, Workflow Management, and the various constituents your team services.
What you'll do:
• Manage and motivate the Media Operations team on a day-to-day basis; ensure appropriate resource allocation, efficient workflow and flawless output.
• When necessary, roll up your sleeves and help the team execute during times when delivery schedule and resources are not optimal.
• Look to continually identify and implement scalable, cost saving opportunities for improvement within team processes, supporting systems, and communication channels.
• Act as technical liaison for cross-functional internal departments and external clients.
• Act as an ambassador of Media Operations across the organization.

• Must be detail-oriented with great attention to accuracy, have excellent organizational skills and have the ability to manage and communicate with teams on multiple projects.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent written communication and verbal agility are necessary for cross-team collaboration.
• Hands-on familiarity with Adobe CC Suite, Avid Media Composer, asset management, file transfer applications (Signiant, Aspera, etc.).
• Experience managing editorial resource workload.
• Flexibility with work schedule and availability as necessary.
