Overview
Red Varden Studios is a Los Angeles-based television and film production company that features programming across a variety of genres. Red Varden Studios was formed by Zig Gauthier in 2007, building upon his experience over the past decade on scripted comedies, dramas, MOWs and all forms of non-scripted programming for television. Red Varden Studios also develops, produces and distributes online content, mobile content and mobile apps. As a former development executive at Fox Cable Networks, Fox Television Studios, NBC Universal's Syfy Channel and the joint Sony/Liberty Media cable network Game Show Network, Gauthier brings a very unique network and studio executive perspective to Red Varden Studios programming. Our film and television slate will continue to feature all forms of content for studios, broadcast networks, cable networks, syndication and digital media outlets, including comedies, dramas, documentaries, celeb reality, game and other scripted and non-scripted genres, as well as independent live action and animated feature films. Since the launch of the company, Red Varden has sold projects to TLC, Oxygen, Cartoon Network, ReelzChannel, Fremantle Media and Ripe TV. Zig is also an independent staff producer who most recently produced Ghost Hunters for Syfy Channel and Top Shot for History Channel.

Internships
Red Varden Studios has one of the most respected, structured, challenging internship programs in Hollywood. Our internship program is essentially an assistant training program/entertainment boot camp. Former interns have been hired at Silver Pictures, Warner Brothers, CBS, ABC, Fox, NBC Universal, VH1, MTV, William Morris Endeavor, CAA, ICM, USA Network, HBO and countless others. Our internship program is targeted towards individuals who are very professional, polished, talented, and committed to a career in television or film as a studio executive, network executive, producer, agent, writer or director. This internship will be engaging, challenging and help provide you with a foundation for a successful career in entertainment, but only if you are fully committed to yourself and your own professional career goals.

We offer part-time internships year round to students of all majors and all class levels. Our internships are unique in that they are a combination of traditional staff support combined with a very proactive learning element. You will NOT get stuck in a copy room all day making copies. Instead, you will learn about the fundamentals of the entertainment industry, fundamentals of being an assistant and working your way up, and actively participate in the research and development of our projects. We have a 5-6 page intern syllabus that each intern is responsible for learning during the course of their internship. In addition to learning assistant skills in order to get your first permanent assistant position (learning a phone sheet, phone terminology, scheduling and confirming meetings, etc.), you will also learn the intern syllabus, think of titles for television shows, review treatments, conduct online research, help cast shows and much more. Hundreds of former interns and students of Zig Gauthier are now working full time in entertainment.
