Who we're looking for…
RWS & Associates is currently seeking an Associate Casting Director for January 2015 start.
About the role…
Reporting to the Casting Director, the Associate Casting Director will collaborate on all aspects of casting for RWS accounts including, but not limited to, cruise ship, theme park, resort, and corporate event divisions. The Associate Casting Director will handle needs onsite at auditions as well as support the hiring process in the office.
What's expected…
• Evaluating and identifying dancers, singers, actors, and specialty artists that meet RWS' specific needs as dictated by Lead Producer and/or client
• Choreographing and leading a dance call in the audition process
• Commanding a room of auditioners clearly, energetically and efficiently
• Negotiating with performers and other vendors with RWS' best interests in mind
• Creating contracts and budgets with attention to detail and accuracy
• Creating and posting casting breakdowns
• Organizing headshots, resumes and other audition materials into database for easy recall
• Moderate to substantial traveling with evening and weekend availability
• Representing the RWS brand at all times to talent, clients, and vendors
What you bring…
• A minimum of three (3) years professional experience in casting for theatre, dance, corporate, cruise ship, and/or theme park entertainment or comparable professional experience
• BFA/BA in Musical Theatre, Dance/Choreography and/or comparable professional experience preferred
• Performance background in dance and/or choreography preferred
• Acute knowledge of many dance styles and techniques for both teaching combinations and adjudicating talent
• Knowledge of different vocal and acting styles and techniques
• Strong industry contacts and knowledge of audition posting platforms
• Proficiency in budget creation and management
• Experience with performer contracting process
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and other MS Office applications
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize, and work under stringent deadlines
• Professional appearance
• Resourcefulness and proactivity in problem-solving
• Motivation, loyalty, passion, integrity, drive, and self-direction
