RTTV has an immediate opening for a Senior Newsroom Systems Engineer. The position is responsible for leading the Engineering Department in configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting and general upkeep of RTTV's newsroom media asset management system (Dalet).
Responsibilities:
•Diagnose and resolve issues within Dalet and supporting its primary systems: ingest, editing and video conversion
•Administer and support broadcast servers (Omneon), storage systems (Netapp), and backup players
•Configure, integrate, test and roll-out third-party applications (Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, VIZRT and others) with Dalet
•Manage and educate other Engineers within Dalet support
Design and implement procedures to support a constantly changing newsroom work flow
•Act as primary liaison with vendors and assist management with business decisions
Job Requirements:
•Design and implement workflow including user rights administration
•Regular maintenance of edit stations, VIZrt graphic systems, Netapp Online Storage, Diva Tape Archive and Omneon Broadcast system.
•Installation and support of network devices and interfaces
•Support newsroom and control room staff on Dalet and Windows applications
Qualifications:
•Minimum five-years of experience administering Dalet systems, preferably in Senior capacity
•Proven project management experience, implementing new systems and developing documentation, policies and procedures
•Extensive knowledge of networking systems and infrastructure, signal processing and television production
•Excellent communication and time management skills
•Legal right to work in the United States
Software Qualifications:
•Extensive knowledge of Dalet, Windows Systems, TCP/IP, DNS, SNMP, Active Directory, Windows Server 2003 and on, Mac OS X, and Linux
•Certifications IN A+, Net+, CCNA, MCSE
•Working knowledge of Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere
