Details: Located in the heart of Los Angeles, RFPR is a boutique public relations agency with clients in the fashion, food & beverage, and lifestyle industries. RFPR is currently seeking an organized, creative, professional, stylish intern who is interested in learning the basics of public relations and brand management.

This internship is for college credit.

Start Date: January 2012

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Learn the basics of drafting pitch letters, press releases, media alerts backgrounders and fact sheets
• Assemble press kits
• Daily telephone/email contact with local and national press and vendors
• Maintain press contact database and client files
• Track press coverage and manage monthly press credits report
• Assist in distribution of press releases and client press kits/lookbooks
• Assist with planning, production and execution of local PR events and campaigns
• Assist in the creation of new client proposals and timelines
• Manage VIP lists and celebrity outreach
• Mailings to press and VIPs
• Assist on all client accounts
• Event support – event preparation and on-site execution
• Receive training on media relations, client management and event execution
• Support senior staff

Required Skills

• Must be passionate about style, beauty, fashion and food, and be well versed in various components of the business including working knowledge of national magazines/newspaper/TV shows and their target audiences
• Self-starter with excellent organizational skills
• Strong verbal and written communications skills, ability to deal with strong personalities while maintaining high degree of professionalism
• Must be able to work well under tight deadlines and in a fast paced environment with the ability to multi-task
• Ability to develop a working knowledge of new computer programs quickly
• Proficiency creating and editing documents in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Positive, cheerful attitude
• Professional and articulate phone manner
• Familiar with Outlook, Photoshop, Microsoft Office
• Related internship experience preferred
