RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide an overview of the role.
The Light and Grip Associate will support the Light and Grip Manager in accomplishing all tasks related to inventory and equipment, and anything to do with production equipment needs. Following is a list of daily and primary tasks, although the work is not limited to the items below:
- Maintain and clean the L+G equipment and shop
- Check the functionality of all equipment and maintains it in working order
- Store, organize and inventory all equipment
- Make repairs to equipment when necessary
- Operate forklift for various production and studio related tasks
- Repair and maintain forklift
- Help to perform annual inventory
- Perform light bulb inventory on a regular basis and ensures that rented lights have associated lights on deck at any given time
- Pull and re-shelve client orders ensuring accuracy and functionality of equipment
- Assist productions with power needs from the initial set up of construction power, through all phases of shooting, to wrap/strike
- Assist productions with the setup of grid and grid lighting
- Maintain up-to-date paperwork and invoicing for sub-rented equipment
- Coordinate and prepare billing paperwork for Client Services Manager
- Store, maintain and deliver tables and chairs for production orders and RSH needs
- Assist all departments in various heavy-lifting, off-loading, moving and re-organizing tasks
REQUIREMENTS
- High school degree or equivalent work experience
- Significant work experience is required to operate equipment
- Knowledge of carpentry, electricity, and cameras are very helpful
- Computer skills required
