Prometheus Global Media is the home to leading music and entertainment publications including The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, Spin, Vibe, and more. Our brands are premier media properties focused on covering the entertainment and music industries via leading digital destinations, print publications, and original video programming. The Inventory/Yield Manager will act as the central owner of inventory across our multiple web properties, both for our direct and programmatic clientele. This role is responsible for ensuring that we are maximizing yield across all platforms on all digital properties as well as reducing inefficiencies. The person in this role will have 2-3 years experience managing inventory at a media or digital publishing company with proven results maximizing yield. This person should also be a self-starter who thinks strategically and possesses analytical skills.
Responsibilities
• Execute general forecast reporting that will be leveraged by account management, sales, programmatic, video, and executive teams
• Approach inventory management holistically, understanding the relationships between direct sell thru rate, programmatic optimization, off-platform inventory, and revenue
• Provide sales and account management with forecasting for high impact executions and custom content
• Increase overall revenue through more efficient use of our existing inventory
• Act as the subject matter expert on seasonal fluctuations in inventory and advise the sales and account management teams on CPM & rate card modifications
• Work with the programmatic team to forecast inventory for audience segments
• Manage inventory reservation process for video syndication and distribution partners
• Develop and regularly report on ad unit benchmarks
• Act as our inventory expert for the sales team and, at times, participate in the sales process
• Build a comprehensive media knowledge base of platform landscape and the impact of industry trends such as viewability on inventory and revenue
• Identify and report on key performance indicators and opportunities for improvement on a regular basis
• Drive continued innovation and best practice implementation
• Work collaboratively with the Sales, Product, and Development teams
• Identify opportunities to improve organizational and process enhancements
Requirements:
• 2-3 years experience managing inventory at a media or digital publishing company
• Proven ability to navigate a complex media landscape and effectively deliver on operational objectives
• Advanced level data and spreadsheet skills
• Strong people management and issue resolution skills
• Excellent communication skills, both internally and across teams
• Demonstrated experience maximizing digital revenue
• Demonstrated analytical, strategic and creative problem solving skills
• Deep understanding of yield management strategies
• Innovative self-motivator with ability to be resourceful in ambiguous situations
• Expert knowledge of digital ad industry tools like Omniture, DFP, and ad exchanges
