The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard are premier media properties focused on covering the entertainment and music industries via leading digital destinations, print publications, and original video programming. We are looking for a Video Marketing & Ad Solutions leader to drive both custom and productizable video packages that both showcase innovative video editorial opportunities, and deliver against advertisers' core video goals – including reach, views, engagement, and direct-response. This individual will be responsible for empowering sales across multiple verticals with high-value and cross-platform opportunities that exceed expectations and achieve revenue growth.
The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of cross-platform branded entertainment video packaging and revenue growth for leading Fortune 500 brands, with inspired creative thinking in a fast-paced environment across a wide spectrum of solutions, including:
• Pre-roll and other in-stream advertising
• Product placement and brand integration
• Tentpole sponsorships
• Episodic and custom video series
• Native format(s)
The ideal candidate should also have a passion for and understanding of the evolving digital video entertainment landscape, including long- and short-form video, mobile platforms, social drivers, content verticals, subscription, over-the-top, live streaming, apps and more, with a knack for knowing what advertisers are looking for. This role reports to the GM, Video with a dotted line to head of Sales.
Responsibilities:
• Create premium, must-have packaging opportunities that generate buzz with advertisers and agencies
• Define and manage video packaging strategies for The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard that play to strengths, and maximize revenue opportunities while delivering on advertiser goals
• Work closely with sales on strategic engagements and RFP responses, to deliver proposals that meet advertiser needs including reach, targeting, views, engagement, direct-response, and viewability
• Partner with sales and packaging teams to define multi-format and multi-platform video offerings around key tentpoles including (but not limited to) the Oscars, Grammy's, Sundance Film Festival, the Golden Globes, the Billboard Music Awards, and more
• Proactively develop and roll-out video packages that bundle original editorial programming to deliver on a broad range of target advertiser needs, from pre-roll, to exclusives and sponsorships, all the way to product integration and potential custom series
• Work with editorial teams to develop, validate and enhance potential branded original ideas, product sponsorships and placement opportunities
• In partnership with sales, operations, and analytics, manage inventory projections to maximize sell-through rates and meet views and impression deliveries
Requirements:
• 5-7 years' experience in digital advertising solutions and sales packaging with a focus on video
• Background in video entertainment, news or similarly related digital consumer media is required
• Digital advertising agency or marketer background within key video spend verticals such as automotive or CPG a plus
• Thorough understanding of next-generation advertiser needs around branded content, in a fast-paced and ever-evolving video environment
• Expertise in video advertising formats, such as pre-roll, 5-second skip, overlays, native, sponsorships and integrations
• Deep knowledge of video platforms (e.g. YouTube), social platforms (e.g. Facebook), apps (e.g. Snapchat), over-the-top, and live streaming and how to package them into branded content solutions
• Proven ability to develop solutions that delivers against advertiser KPIs
• Excellent written, verbal communication and client presentation skills
• Proven ability to work fast and on a deadline
• Passion for digital/entertainment/news
• BA/BS required
