The intern position entails assisting two to three, full days a week in the PGA Beverly Hills office. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in the producing field as well as a strong knowledge of the entertainment industry. Intern duties include (but are not limited to) performing research, writing copy and preparing layout for invitations and newsletter, working/attending screenings and events, answering phones, updating databases, special projects, office support, etc.
This internship is an excellent opportunity to learn more about producing and the role of the Guild within the industry, as well as to engage with working producers in film (narrative and documentary), television (long form, sitcom, daytime, sports, news, reality, documentary, etc.) and new media. Our ideal candidate wants to take advantage of the many events the Guild has to offer!
Applicants must be full/part-time students. They should have participated in film, TV, video, or media-arts programs, or have experience in the producing field. The candidate must be exceptionally organized, detailed, enthusiastic, eager to show initiative, and open to learning. They must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, strong social skills, and be computer-literate and internet savvy.
Proficiency in typing, MS Word and Excel, and Mac and PC is required.
Familiarity with Final Cut Pro and Photoshop is a plus.
The internship will begin in September and run through December/January.
