We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague with a dedicated work ethic and a sharp mind who doesn't mind being very hands on in the whole of the accounting cycle. The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas related to accounting and financial reporting. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Accounting Manager will work with the VP, Finance to ensure that the organization has the systems and procedures in place to produce accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP, ensure compliance with applicable contract reporting requirements, analyze financial data and clearly communicate financial results and trends to senior management, identify cost saving opportunities and recommend actions to enhance profitability.
• Ensure that all accounting functions are performed in an accurate, complete and timely manner in accordance with generally
accepted accounting principles (US GAAP)
• Perform month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations for various balance sheet and
income statement accounts and consolidation of multiple entities.
• Maintain a strong and effective system of internal financial controls for the organization.
• Interact with other department leaders concerning organizational initiatives, financial information, statistics, budget variances and
policies and procedures
• Drafting an analyzing monthly financial statements for third-party joint ventures
• Assist with the annual independent audit and special audits and reviews
• Present financial reports and information to department leaders and senior management as needed
• Review work flows and drive continuous process improvements. Act as a change agent to increase operational effectiveness
• Communicate regularly with the VP, Finance and CFO regarding all major issues impacting financial operations and reporting
Experience and Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA preferred
• 3+ years of relevant work experience, entertainment industry experience strongly preferred
• Experience with accounting software packages and data manipulation required
• Strong knowledge of accounting and financial reporting
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Advanced computer skills (namely Excel)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy; ability to multi-task
• Must be self-starter with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced entrepreneurial work environment
