Post Haste Digital is a leading independent post production facility in West Los Angeles that offers a complete compliment of post production services to major studios and independent clients alike. The Captioning & Subtitling Specialist will perform a variety of timed-text related duties, including evaluation of existing files, QC of new files, transcription of content, and conform & editorial all types of media-related timed-text for DVD/BD/UHD, streaming media, dubbing, and other mediums. Work will primarily involve subtitles but may also include work in closed captioning and other mediums.
The Captioning & Subtitling Specialist reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for creating new timed-text content, QCing existing content, and conforming, editing, and reformatting content.
Principle Requirements:
Excellent command of English language, as well as slang and colloquial expressions.
Experience in tasks requiring extreme written language accuracy.
Ability to complete work assignments in a timely and accurate manner, with outstanding attention to detail in all projects.
Excellent computer skills. Possess the aptitude to learn a variety of required computer software, such as Swift Create, Lemony, EZTitles, MacCaptions, Annotation Edit, etc..
Ability to apply client-specific specs as needed and adhere to all special instructions.
Ability to problem solve creatively.
Ability to work independently and as a team player.
Be proactive and communicate problems/issues/developments effectively to supervisor, peers, and/or internal staff as needed.
Ability to work well under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnel in all mediums (in person, telephone, written).
Ability to work flexible hours if and when necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
An associate's degree (A. A.) or Bachelor's degree in English or related field.
And/or 2-3 years related experience.
Previous subtitle or captioning experience preferred.
Experience with a variety of required computer software, such as Swift Create, Lemony, EZTitles, MacCaptions, Annotation Edit, etc. preferred.
