The Segment Producer is responsible for producing Fashion and Beauty videos for our editorial franchise shows, original branded content and our daily TV show. This role works closely with the POPSUGAR Style editorial and production team to develop creative ideas/themes and ensure the successful execution of each video project, from pre to post-production.
We are looking for someone who has a feel for the POPSUGAR brand and its millennial female audience, pushes past the predictable and generic, and crafts stories that motivate our audience to watch and share, through combining emotional, smart or funny approaches with authoritative, trustable takeaways.
Responsibilities:
Manage video projects from pre- to post-production including:
Generating inspired, sharable ideas and video concepts on tight deadlines based on client needs.
Pre-production: writing treatments/ beat sheets, booking locations, working with Style team to strategize creative execution, working with studio to book crew and gear, figuring out all logistics leading up to the shoot, keeping up with deadlines and timelines.
Field Producing: on-set producing, conducting interviews, managing crew of shooters, liaising with PR contacts and brand clients, ensuring quality and brand voice. Must have a keen eye for detail and camera. Must know how to clearly direct a crew.
Post production: overseeing editing/post, manage timeline and work with editor to meet deadlines and turn out the best product. Deliver cuts on schedule, address client notes, and interface with various departments and clients.
Support Fashion/Beauty team on recurring shows and segments already in production. Must be able to jump in and physically produce to company standards after preliminary training
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years experience producing digital content. Television and commercial experience a plus.
Self-starter, able to work autonomously within a team.
A passion for and proven understanding of current trends, fashion and beauty.
A strong creative vision that is both inspired and commercial, and able to execute show concepts into high-quality productions.
Grace under pressure, great people skills, high integrity, proactive, adaptable and flexible.
Exceptional writing and communication skills for interviewing and storytelling.
Organizational skills and being detail-oriented are a must. Master of multitasking and juggling.
Thorough understanding of every aspect of physical production, from development to delivery.
Must have a fine eye for detail behind the camera. Must know how to compose a shot and what camera work is needed to cover a shoot beautifully
Shooting and editing skill-set a major plus
