BASIC FUNCTION
Under the direction of the SVP of business analytics and operations, this position is responsible for all aspects of post-production, QC, content compliance, and media asset management (physical and digital). The director will be responsible for the day to day maintenance and upkeep of all Playboy Plus Entertainment's post production, editorial, and media management workflows. This position will oversee a large staff and be able to report metrics and logistics optimization at an executive level.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee 4 direct report managers in the day to day management of the flow of media from Post to QC to Digital Archive
Manage a large post production staff to ensure the following:
Versioning of adult product for the proper delivery to end client platforms, including VOD, linear broadcast, and program sales
Maintain delivery specs for each production unit (internal or 3rd party) for proper delivery
As a service provider to other departments, have a complete understanding of the various post production formats/systems and ensure communication lines remain open and deadlines are met
Responsible for the Quality Control of all assets coming in and out of the building, including content (heat) QC, TQC, editorial, and transcode QC
Continued development of QC requirements at Playboy Plus Entertainment to stay aligned with the industry's standards and practices. Work closely with the Legal and Product departments to stay atop these business requirements
Work closely with the Traffic and Fulfillment departments to maintain a smooth media throughput and delivery workflow
Oversee Compliance group to assure all media is compliant with all regulatory factions, including OFCOM
Oversee a complex post production ecosystem which includes NLE systems, Tier 1 and nearline storage, deep archive, ingest/output, and encoding systems
Work closely with the Engineering and Technology groups for system optimizations and plan long range technology systems infrastructure evolution to support developing business requirements
Maintain existing physical and digital archives, which includes all library servicing that is required. Coordinate with all external vault vendors and maintain relationships/contracts
Develop a long term plan for all physical assets to ensure minimal vault space and conversion to a fully digital library in alignment with the company's infrastructure and policies
Identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for successful performance of business goals. Track KPI results consistently and develop improvement action plans by department and/or individual as required
Other executive level media related responsibilities and duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Four (4) direct reports, comprising of 2 Post Managers, 1 QC & Compliance Manager, and 1 MAM Administration Manager. The entire Post Production and MAM department will be comprised of 37 employees
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of 8 ~ 10 years experience in the television or film industry, particularly in the post production or media operations categories.
Candidate must be familiar with NLE systems and understand industry post production technical specifications. Candidate must have ability to work well with many different departments, weighing the priorities and needs of each of them, integrating these into the workflow.
Candidate should be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, strong analytical skills, management experience, and have a strong grasp of Microsoft Office.
Must be an Excel power user.
Additional organizational skills and general administrative experience required, with strong attention to detail.
MBA or graduate degree
experience with Pilat IBMS or similar Enterprise asset/scheduling system a plus
