Public Relations Assistant Job Description
We are a highly regarded boutique public relations firm with a focus on film, hospitality, talent, music and lifestyle. We seek a motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter and team player to join our staff. Applicants must demonstrate strong writing skills with experience in writing press releases, pitches, and media alerts. Qualified candidates should have between 1+ years' experience including successfully pitching media via phone and email.
Candidate will assist the Managing Director in all day-to-day public relations activities. These responsibilities include: client media outreach; drafting of press materials; media list and desk research; covering events of all kinds from red carpet premieres to brand launches; recruiting and supervising interns; administrative tasks and communicating with clients. Our staff gains experience in a variety of industries and marketing channels through their client work, team collaboration, and new business recruitment.
Salary is commensurate with experience, benefits are offered. There's strong opportunity for growth in the position and we commission new business.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1+ years' experience with a public relations agency - MANDATORY
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Docs/Sheets, Cision, IMDBpro and other services
- Strong online research skills and proficiency in using digital media platforms
- Knowledge of social media platforms including: Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram and YouTube
- MUST HAVE A VEHICLE
- MUST LIVE IN LOS ANGELES AREA
