Employee Experience (Human Resources) Manager
SUMMARY:
Seeking a well-rounded HR professional with strong relationship-building skills to join Pixar’s Employee Experience team. The Employee Experience Manager will partner with functional groups to provide consultation, outreach and guidance to a variety of groups and individuals.
This role will work with client groups on employee relations, feedback, talent development, org development and employee engagement. S/he will be relied upon to provide insight, observations and context to enhance understanding of complex organizational or interpersonal issues. S/he will also be relied upon to identify and act on opportunities to improve programs, processes, communication and/or training to yield greater effectiveness and results.
As an Employee Experience Manager, a typical day might include:
• Meeting with an employee who wants help with crafting feedback, to offer coaching and advice
• Consulting with managers and leaders to define job-specific and role-specific skill and behavioral competencies
• Reviewing employee data relative to a group or function to gain insights into talent, and better understand things like career progression, development needs, etc.
• Meeting with an employee to discuss their upcoming parental leave, to explain time off and pay available to them
• Working with teams to design and implement a feedback practice for their group/project
• Meeting with stakeholders to determine responsibilities and qualifications to develop a job description; help determine requirements, job level and compensation
• Collaborating with others in the Employee Experience team regarding the application and impact of talent programs
• Collaborating with the People Operations team to implement and extend Workday functionality; provide context and input
• Meeting newer employees over coffee, to discuss their experience so far and to develop relationships
• Partnering with Pixar University to develop and deliver employee training
• Providing best practice guidance to functional leaders and helping them consider the implications of decisions or change

To determine if you’re qualified, you would need to possess the following:
REQUIRED:
• Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, 3 in a generalist capacity
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport quickly and establish productive, trust-based and effective relationships with a wide variety of individuals across diverse client groups
• Well-honed consultative and coaching skills
• High degree of integrity and honesty
• Demonstrated ability to stay objective and exercise sound judgment in complex and sensitive situations
• Diplomatic; tactful and thoughtful in interactions with others
• Extensive working knowledge of general HR practices, programs and policies
• Excellent working knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing employment policies and practices
PREFERRED:
• Effective group consensus building and influencing skills
• Experience facilitating groups
• Experience working within a complex, dynamic environment
• Prior HR experience in a creative, artistic and/or high tech industry
