JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Video Shooter / Editor
LOCATION: Philadelphia, PA
JOB SUMMARY:
The Sixers are creating an in-house video production department. The Video Shooter/ Editor will serve as a key member of the Philadelphia 76ers in-house production department that is responsible for establishing the vision, creative look, and production of video content including but not limited to in-arena features/graphics, TV commercials, and online and digital features.
Assist the Executive Producer and Senior Producer in establishing a consistent, world class creative vision and philosophy that ensures the Sixers produce elite quality content that enhances the Philadelphia 76ers brand.
The Video Shooter/Editor will serve as the primary shooter and one of the main editors in the planning, execution and creation of video content.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
• Primary shooter and lighter for Sixers TV commercials, in-game entertainment videos, live programming, etc.
• Collaborate with the Game Entertainment Department to establish and define an in-arena creative look and feel. Shoot, edit and produce in-game videos and graphics. Ie. Highlight videos, crowd pump up videos, starting lineup videos/graphics, humorous / fun videos, etc.
• Work with the Executive Producer and Senior Producer in the planning and production of game day video roll-ins, highlight packages and other video pieces for use during Sixers games and events.
• Provide video coverage for Sixers non-basketball events including but not limited to, community relations events, ticket sales events, basketball camps, etc.
• Coordinate camera, light and audio set-up and operation for shoots, video ingesting, sourcing photos, selecting stock music, script writing, copy checking.
• Work with the Executive Producer and Senior Producer/Editor to concept, script and produce unique video features to enhance the brand of the Sixers.
• Foster a strong creative culture.
• Effectively integrate on-court activities, LED ribbon boards, live video, music, and stats into Sixers game presentation.
• Shoot and edit internal video content to support charitable events, Sixers platforms/promotions and sales.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A minimum of three (3) years shooting (camera operator) and editing video content for broadcast, in arena or online.
• Working knowledge and experience with Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Final Cut Studio and General Production Equipment.
• Experience in video production and non-linear editing.
• Proficient with HD and DSLR cameras.
• Experience in sports video production, film and cinematography a plus.
• Experience working with camera crews, experience operating cameras and microphones preferred.
• Strong understanding of production / post-production process.
• Able to perform production duties as needed (ie: camera operator, sound recorder, grip and electric, director, producer, writer, etc.).
• Ability to work events and games which require nights and weekends.
• Self-motivated, resourceful and flexible.
• Four-year degree preferably in Film, Fine Arts, Mass Communications or Broadcast Journalism majors.
• Understanding of the game of basketball a plus.
• Must be capable of lifting up to 30lbs.
