JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Motion Graphics Designer / Editor - Philadelphia 76ers
LOCATION: Philadelphia, PA
JOB SUMMARY:
The Sixers are creating an in-house video production department. The Motion Graphics Designer / Editor will serve as a key member of the Philadelphia 76ers in-house production department that is responsible for establishing the vision, creative look, and production of video content including but not limited to in-arena features/graphics, TV commercials, and online and digital features.
Assist the Executive Producer and Senior Producer / Editor in establishing a consistent, world class creative vision and philosophy that ensures the Sixers produce elite quality content that enhances the Philadelphia 76ers brand.
The Motion Graphics Designer/Editor will bring deep expertise in graphics, animations, illustrations, and video editing capabilities.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
• Assist the Executive Producer in conceptualizing and producing high-quality motion graphics and 3D content from concept to delivery across in-game entertainment, television commercials, and, when appropriate, digital platforms.
• Deliver visually stunning motion sequences for anything from presentation graphics to in-arena LED boards, videos and digital signage.
• Determine overall themes for multi-faceted projects as well as individual design concepts.
• Coordinate production process and select appropriate production media and materials.
• Perform complex design using job-required software applications and in-depth knowledge of principles and practices of motion graphic design.
• Collaborate with other members of video production team to create world-class content.
• Work with the Executive Producer in the planning and production of game day video roll-ins, highlight packages and other video pieces for use during Sixers games and events.
• Serve as an editor for video and graphic production that runs cross channel - via game entertainment, TV, and digital when appropriate.
• Foster a strong creative culture.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A minimum of three (3) years of expertise of 2D & 3D software applications such as After Effects, Maya or Cinema 4D
• Demonstrated proficiency with the following programs: Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro 7, Adobe After Effects, Apple Motion and Adobe CS6 + (Photoshop and Illustrator imperative)
• Strong aptitude for comprehending advanced concepts and translating into visual design
• Experience animating complex illustrations and designs
• Strong Production, Editing, and creative knowledge. Ability to establish a world class creative look and excel at visual storytelling
• Exceptional design skills including layout and typography experience
• Ability to edit video and work with video assets incorporated into designs
• Good sense of timing and screen composition
• Experience with color correction, special effects and music selection
• Ability to manage changing priorities, deadlines and internal customer needs
• Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience in sports video production, film and cinematography a plus.
• Able to perform production duties as needed (ie: camera operator, sound recorder, grip and electric, director, producer, writer, etc.).
• Ability to work events and games which require nights and weekends.
• Four-year degree preferably in Film, Fine Arts, Mass Communications or Broadcast Journalism majors.
• Understanding of the game of basketball a plus.
