Penske Media Corporation (PMC), a rapidly growing media company (Ranked #49 on comScore with leading content brands, such as Variety, Deadline, Hollywood Life, TVLine, Movieline, ENTV, BGR, and more) is looking for a multi-talented SEO Specialist to work with content creators, editors, product managers, and engineers across the entire portfolio of our online properties to produce the SEO strategy and provide SEO guidance.
This position will report to the SEO Manager and will work closely with PMC editors on a daily basis to optimize editorial copy as news breaks. If you are looking to work with industry-leading websites and make a direct impact on the bottom line, this is your shot!
Responsibilities:
Editorial
• Work closely with PMC content creators to maximize the search traffic potential for each piece of content.
• Educate and provide regular feedback on headlines, keyword density, image tags, meta, title tags, URL structure, keyword analysis and related aspects
• Provide recommendations to editorial teams related to keyword and content trends and performance of specific pieces of content
• Work in real time to optimize breaking news stories in a highly competitive industry
Technical
• Analysis and implementation of best practices for on-site SEO, including site maps and architecture, Google webmaster tools, cleanup of 404s, duplicate content, missing meta, etc. via industry tools and services
• Stay abreast of notable search product updates, changes to Google algorithm, related industry trends and techniques
Product
• Collaborate with product and business teams to propose new products, changes to existing site structures, and content offerings to further maximize search traffic potential
• Provide SEO feedback during development of new products and site features
• Document SEO guidelines and provide internal training to organizations to keep the latest SEO techniques top of mind
Traffic
• Develop link strategies and/or direct marketing relationships with off-network sites.
• Provide ongoing reports to executive management related to search traffic and keyword performance, ROI, website traffic levels and customer acquisition
• Find new opportunities to maximize SERP for groups of strategic keywords
Qualifications:
• Minimum 1 year of SEO-related work experience.
• Demonstrated results increasing site rankings and search traffic
• Experience with SEO analysis pertaining to keywords, trends, and performance
• Demonstrated success with increasing organic referral growth
• Self-motivated individual who is driven towards continuous improvement of projects
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Must be detail-orientated with ability to multitask in an ever-changing environment
• Analytically focused with the ability to recommend and implement optimization from review of performance data.
