TakePart, the digital division of Participant Media, is seeking a creative, results-oriented and experienced Product Manager who is passionate about media and digital products. The ideal candidate has the desire to create new and exciting story-telling experiences in addition to developing, implementing, and maintaining new and existing software initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Identify areas of short and long-term product improvement & innovation that are user-centric based on research, analytics data, market trends, and stakeholder business goals
• Define and measure key metrics to make recommendations for our products and to measure the success of your initiatives
• Effectively communicate and partner with internal stakeholders to drive new story-telling experiences and product features
• Identify and document (user flows, specs, wireframes) requirements for features and technical functionality
• Work closely with design, engineering, marketing and advertising to manage the product development cycle (from product discovery to experimentation to implementation)
• Stay abreast of industry trends and perform competitive research to identify, recommend and apply established and emerging industry best practices with a test-and-learn approach that demonstrates results and learning
• Successfully translate feature improvements and new developments into user stories, requirements, and fully own them throughout the Agile process
• Help evolve our product development process and methodologies to improve efficiency and results
• Help mentor junior team members
• Other duties / special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
• 2+ years in consumer-focused digital product management
• Comfort with wireframing, user testing, and other UX development techniques
• Adept at analyzing performance and market data to drive informed product decisions
• Exemplary communication, organizational, and analytical skills
• BA/BS or equivalent degree
• Bonus points:
• Comfort with executing A/B tests using Optimizely or similar tools
• Experience defining agile processes and building team support
• Comfort with responsive design principles
• Facility with UI prototyping tools such as Invision or Sketch
• Hands-on knowledge of web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JSON
• Understanding of the digital causes space
