The Director reports to the Director of Studio Operations.
The Director acts as the liaison between the producers, talent, Director of Studio Operations, technical crew and guides the production of programs for the network. The Director is in charge of all aspects of recording programs, directing live broadcasts, setting up studios to match the vision of the producer and editorial team and general oversight of the technical crew. The Director must be able to visualize a project and by using effective management, creative and organizational skills, take it from the idea stage to completed project. This is a freelance position: Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays through July 2015.
Responsibilities
In charge of auditions, rehearsals, broadcast production, script adherence and setting the pace of the program during recordings and live shows.
Attend all show meetings as determined necessary by the producers and the Director of Studio Operations
Instruct the crew from the control room regarding camera angles, lighting adjustments, transitions to and from commercials and from different locations
Oversee the day-to-day operational production in the control rooms and studios assigned to
Meet with the producers at the start of every day of production and communicate necessary production information and developments to all relevant crew and staff
Oversee the recording, re-tapings, music and mixing of the completed program
Will lead by example, be on time, be prepared and exhibit professionalism in all aspects of their job duties
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Studio Operations
Follows all procedures and policies created and approved by the Director of Studio Operations and by Pac-12 Networks
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years prior work experience as a Director in sports television, network news or digital media production
Bachelor's Degree in related field, or equivalent work experience
Passionate about Pac-12 Sports
Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational, time management and written communication skills
Effective interpersonal skills; good judgment and ability to interact with different levels of management and teams
Demonstrated ability to prioritize under time constraints and work successfully in a fast-paced environment
Experience working in a culturally diverse organization and supporting the values held by our unique employees, clients, sponsors, university faculty, and fans
Proficiency with Google aps and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and experience with Dalet is a bonus
Must be willing and able to work flexible schedules including evenings, overnights, and most weekends and holidays.
Must possess an acute visual sense, strong leadership and organizational skills, and be self-motivated
Some travel may be required
