The Maintenance Engineer is part of the Technology Group and reports to the Technology Support Manager. This role involves Broadcast and IT equipment configuration, troubleshooting, and repair as well as support of live television production and post-production activities. The Maintenance Engineer position works closely with other departments in the Technology Group as well as technical operators and general office personnel in the facility.
Responsibilities
• Configuration, trouble shooting, and repair of television production and IT equipment
• First line support of Production and Post-Production personnel
• First line support of Transmission and Ingest personnel
• Assist Help Desk and Desktop personnel with customer support
• Assist Facilities Group with MEP and Telephone systems support
• Assist in installation of Television and IT equipment
• Repair of Field production equipment
Requirements
• Five years of prior work experience in television or video post-production
• Associates Degree or Technical Certificate in electronics, computer or related field
• Technical training in Computer Networking and Network Security
• Experience with Client/Server system architectures and Database backend systems
• Experience with Windows and Apple desktop computer equipment and software applications
• Experience with non-linear edit system and file based workflow systems
• Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational, and written communication skills
• Effective interpersonal skills; good judgment and ability to interact with different levels of management and teams
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize under time constraints and work successfully in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working in a culturally diverse organization and supporting the values held by our unique employees, clients, sponsors, university faculty, and fans
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet Explorer
• Some travel may be required
• Other duties as assigned by the Technology Support Manager
Preferred
• Experience in support of alternative media distribution technologies including VOD, streaming, on-demand and web technologies
• Experience in setup and configuration of file based workflow systems
• Familiarity with digital media industry including online, TV everywhere, mobile, tablets and other emerging technologies
• Passionate about Pac-12 Sports
