Full Time Unpaid Internship
Pac-12 Networks offers two unique Internship Programs for recent graduates of a Pac-12 university. The Pac-12 Graduate Internship Program is based at Pac-12 Networks' headquarters in San Francisco, California and offers recent graduates of a Pac-12 university an opportunity to gain experience in a sports media company.
Pac-12 Graduate Interns must be able to commit to a full-time, 40-hour per week schedule, for this twelve-month long program from August 14, 2017, to August 10, 2018. Pac-12 Graduate Interns will be paid $19.50 per hour and are eligible to participate in Pac-12 Networks benefits, such as partial commuter subsidy.
To apply, applicants must submit a letter of intent, which outlines which Pac-12 Graduate Internship they are applying for, their internship goals, why they should be selected, and a copy of their resume by Friday, March 31, 2017.
Requirements for Pac-12 Graduate Internships:
• Recent Pac-12 university graduate (within 12 months of application)
• Minimum GPA of 3.3. Finalists will be required to submit transcripts
• Passionate about Pac-12 and collegiate sports
• Student-Athletes preferred, not required
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Google Apps
• Desire to learn more about multimedia sports production and distribution
• Ability to work non-traditional hours: nights, weekends and holidays
• Must be able to present authorization of your legal right to work in the United States
Pac-12 Graduate Internship – Broadcast Television & Multimedia
The Broadcast Television & Multimedia Intern will have the opportunity to rotate between three departments and will learn key elements of working in the Production, Production Planning & Operations, and Programming/Archive departments. The Broadcast Television & Multimedia Intern will learn and be responsible for:
• Production- cut game highlights; operate ticker; edit video for shows, features, Pac-12.com and social media; assist assignment desk in overall content and information distribution to digital and television production teams
• Production Operations– work in the studios learning various production roles, in the control rooms and logistics for multiple productions
• Programming- providing input on scheduling programming for Pac-12's 7 Networks and strategizing new programming concepts.
• Archive- assist in acquiring sports footage in a variety of platforms from tape to digital formats. Assist in cataloging and data entry of sports footage. Help with research in games, teams, individual players, coaches or any aspect of college football, men's and women's basketball, or collegiate Olympic sports as it relates to use in Programming. Assist with tracking footage and shipping orders between the network and universities, and monitor the workflow of digital assets.
Pac-12 Graduate Internship - Sports Management
The Sports Management Intern will have the opportunity to rotate between four departments and will learn key elements of working in the Sponsorships & Sales, Digital, Marketing and Partner Services departments. The Sports Management Intern will learn and be responsible for:
• Ad & Sponsorship Sales– assisting with creating presentations to clients and agencies as well as research for new business.
• Partner Services– assisting with business management and implementation of contractual assets for the Pac-12 Networks and Conference corporate partners.
• Digital- assisting with initiatives around Web, Mobile, and Video products for the Pac-12 and its member institutions.
• Marketing - participate in the creation of the 2017-18 season Pac-12 Networks marketing campaigns, from ideation through production and distribution.
