Art Director
The Art Director will be responsible for conceptualizing and designing creative elements for marketing campaigns to effectively communicate the strategic intent. Creates visually engaging and innovative solutions, makes changes as needed, and participates in creative production to ensure client’s vision is met. The Art Director must have conceptual and design skills, with a knowledge of essential design tools such as InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. The ideal candidate can work both independently and in a team to come up with a range of ideas and executions for each project. You should be organized and able to multi-task.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Create the overall visual appearance for marketing pieces or campaigns in print, collateral, direct mail and more.
• Elegantly communicate the marketing message.
• Ensure the piece or campaign is visually striking, stimulates moods, contrasts features, and psychologically appeals to a target audience.
• Make decisions about designs, colors, fonts, and style while aligning with client’s brand guidelines.
• Translate desired moods, messages, concepts, and underdeveloped ideas into imagery.
• Make effective use of existing image assets.
• Concept with copywriter to devise headlines and copy for campaigns.
• Imagine what the finished piece looks like.
• Ensure deadlines are met.
• Design new ideas for mailer, brochure, or other advertisements as needed.
• Devise headlines or other copy as needed.
• Perform preliminary layout work on a computer.
• Coordinate with production or printers to see a project through to completion.
• Oversee printing process.
• Attend photo shoots and printing sessions as needed.
• Demonstrated complete understanding of:
• Color theory and color relationships.
• Typographic terms that identify type forms and the specifications required to refer to typographic settings (i.e., points, leading, picas, kerning, tracking, cap-height, x-height etc.).
• Perspective and space relationships.
• Page composition and grid structures.
• Print production process, knowledge of production techniques, and correct disking procedures.
• Photography and the photographic process.
• Demonstrated ability to:
• • Communicate thorough knowledge of assigned product(s).
• Provide effective direction at photo shoots.
• Effectively check and approve work on press.
• Effectively collect electronic materials for output.
• Effectively handle multiple assignments at one time.
• Manage challenging situations both internally and with the client.
• Command respect of freelancers and designers and be able to effectively oversee their work.
Job Requirements
Required Experience and Skills:
• Direct mail and print experience is required. Candidates without this experience WILL NOT be considered.
• Experience on well know clients within the home electronics, home appliances, and/or mobile/wireless sectors is highly desirable.
• A bachelor (4 year) degree is preferred.
• 5 years design experience in an agency setting is required.
• 1-2 years of supervisory experience required.
• Must possess exceptional computer skills. Macintosh operating platform a must. PC knowledge a plus. Thorough knowledge of the following software applications is required, Adobe Illustrator, scanning software, Adobe Photoshop, and any widely utilized word processing application.
• Demonstrated ability to think creatively and provide marketable solutions in conceiving, developing, and producing tactics.
